Brought my air purifier back to life.
The control circuit went bad on my Hunter ($300) air purifier. I used this switch to replace that board and it works fine. Had to drill a hole in the case of the purifier. Not a big deal. Of course it totally manual now which is ok.

Don't Use the "C" terminal for a 120v 3 Speed Motor.
When I tested the circuit on this switch, the first position is Off, second position B-C and L are connected hot, This will be a dead short in the switch! You can not connect the "C" common to the "B" positive power lead, it is a dead short. The schematic in the drawing looks like it was made in 1965. To use this in a 120V ac 3 speed switch , you must bypass the terminal "C" and go direct to the motor common. Insulate the "C" terminal as it will be hot at all other setting for speed controls. In the first position it is off, "B" to "C" terminals are disconnected. Maybe this is an issue internal design, but it needs reviewed at the MFG. As for as the quality of the switch, it seems good and positive switch spring pressure. I would not know if is really copper inside, but to tear it apart.

This switch replaced the controller on my Master Cool swamp cooler
This switch replaced the fried electronic controller on my Master Cool swamp cooler. I connected the power from the breaker to the B terminal on the switch, then connected the ground and common elsewhere, merely capping the Common on the switch for safety. There is a easy to understand electrical diagram of the Master Cool on the owner’s manual.
