I had to install in bedroom washer drain. Vapors were getting past P-trap. Likely due to fan creating just enough suction.Easy to slide in place. You need about 2 inches minimum of space above for enough water pressure to drain quicker.Also installed in shower drain, if you don't have 2" of vertical water space water will pool. Once fit properly drain works well.Solid plastic inner tube surrounded by soft plastic ribs. That can be removed if needed.

After our new shower was installed, we had a problem with odors coming up from the drainpipe. We simply pushed this little device into the top of the pipe under the drain cover and never had a smell again. Water goes down, but nothing comes up.

Recently purchased a flipped house. Typical for corners to be cut in these types of houses. No exceptions made for this one. The shower in one of the bathrooms was a new addition and they ‘forgot’ about certain building codes, such as acceptable water traps on drains to prevent the back flow of sewer gas from coming through. Well this little plug has been working wonders. There’s no reduction in drainage and the smell is gone. Certainly will recommend to anyone that has a similar problem.
