Lenox Oyster Bay 12Pc Dinnerware Set, 15.20, White

I've always wanted a Lenox set of dishes. It's great they are on Amazon. I'll describe these dishes a bit but know Lenox has been making dishes since 1917 and have been manufacturing quality dishes longer than most of us have been alive.The designs are subtle grayscale with lots of detail and texture that only shows up in person. The saucers have subtle dimples in them which adds layers of interest. If you eat something particularly liquid-ey on them the liquid will pool in these which is particularly interesting. They are probably 1/8th inch deep at most and barely noticeable. These dimples will not affect ease of cleaning. Another really cool thing about this design is the bowls and saucers have complimentary designs. Each bowl is different as is each saucer but they are still clearly part of the same set. After the excitement of opening the boxes of saucers and bowls I can honestly say I was a little disappointed that the plates are all identical. This set is not perfectly round. There is an intentional wobble to the outside rim that makes them feel handmade and is a very nice touch. These plates were designed by an artist or an art team and it shows. There is nothing not to love about this set.Lenox also offers a very consumer-friendly replacement service where it is easy to replace individual pieces should they become damaged in some way. I have liked Lenox for a very long time. This is a very nice set.

This dishware set comes with 4 large plates, 4 medium plates, and 4 bowls. The bowls and medium plates are quite lovely with a pattern variety that is fun to look at and compare, different enough to be interesting but close enough to stay within the same family. The large plates have significantly less pattern and 'fun' to them, but I guess that is intentional to not distract too much from the main part of the meal.The dishware is high quality and feels solid. While they also feel a bit fragile (enough to be 'dainty'), they feel so much sturdier than traditional porcelain and china, and being able to dishwash and microwave is so much more modern and convenient.I do wish they were a little cheaper. Service for 4 is just not going to be enough, and while I think these are 5 star quality, they're a bit of a reach for me personally to stock 8 or 12.

The organic shapes of the plates and bowls are unique and beautiful with their perfectly imperfect edges. The cool-toned watercolor art featuring plaids, sketched lines, and painterly foliage and florals on the oyster-white backdrop adds a calming appeal and elegance to the overall design.The porcelain material used to craft the dinnerware set is durable and dishwasher and microwave safe. I love how the mix and match motifs of the set are unified in calming cool-tone grey, making it easy to create a coordinated look for any meal. Overall, the Lenox Oyster Bay dinnerware set is a great addition to my dining collection and brings a touch of elegance to my everyday dining experience.

The media could not be loaded. Oyster Bay is subtle & wonderfully tactile. Each piece has a unique texture and shape, more like individually hand-made items, and the finish is lovely. Each of the four all-purpose bowls and accent plates has its own design (see the picture). The artistic elements are very soothing & organic.The dinner plate is subtle ombré— the included video gives you a better sense of the lovely variation in tone than I could capture in a photo.Love that these are microwave and dishwasher safe porcelain, too. They have a good weight and the calm gray and cream tones blend well with other decor..Absolutely gorgeous!

I am disappointed with this Lenox Oyster Bay 12Pc Dinnerware Set. Lenox is known for high quality dishes and porcelain; however, this set did not meet my expectations. The plates are not round. The designs on the bowls and salad plates match; however the dinner plates are a completely different pattern. The bowls and plates have four different designs; while, the dinner plates have one design. The finish on the pieces is not smooth or consistent. The imperfections in the shape are also not consistent. The value is not good for this set. There are a lot of warnings that make me think the manufacturers are not confident that these will truly last in the dishwasher and/or microwave as indicated. The packaging was very difficult to open - incredibly frustrating. I do not recommend this Lenox Oyster Bay 12Pc Dinnerware Set.

Each of these 12 pieces has a slightly different design. The dinner plates are the most consistent across the set. The salad plates and the bowls each has its own varied design, while being consistent on color and texture of the surfaces.The large and small plates have a slight green tint, making them sort of a gray-green color in the pattern. The bowls, however, are lacking in the green tint. They are just a light gray. The difference is quite subtle and won't be noticed by most guests at your table, but it seems a mismatch. The green tint is so subtle it does not show up well, if at all, in my photos. The slight color difference is the reason I am rating this with four stars instead of five. Everything other than the slight color variance is well deserving of five stars.

This is a 12 piece set. They have a classic beauty to them. They remind me of my grandmother's old wheat china set. They are made by Lenox Oyster and they did a fantastic job at creating a look from the past. They are a bit pricey but you can add to the set over time. They feel good when you hold them. They are breakable so be careful. I love the look and am very pleased.
