Bates Men's Tactical Sport 2 Tall Zip Military and Tactical Boot

Best boots I've ever owned. My father recommended this brand to me and I'm glad I jumped on them. I did replace the insoles with more cushioned ones but I am very pleased. I work as a security guard on and off my feet quite a bit in a day. Had horrible foot pain in my unnamed brand boots. So happy I gave these a shot. Never had a pair of boots with a zipper before but man do I love the convenience. The only negative I have is my wife says I sound like SpongeBob when he walks. They do have a little squeek but other than that no complaints at all.

They're Bates. The name still stands. I am extremely hard on shoes because of my bad gait and working 72 hour shifts in public safety. These boots last me two years before they start looking bad, but even then they are still structurally sound. Get them.

Great boots. I have been wearing these boots on patrol and they have worked great. They provide pretty good ankle support, just wish they were slightly more breathable.

I’m very hard on boots as I wear them for everything. I walk to the bus andwork in a hospital lab and they get constant use. I also work on bikes so they are constantly getting dragged across the ground, but they still polish up very well. The heels especially have held up very well to constant use and have not broken down under my 185 pound weight. The zippers and laces have held up like new, although I trim the Velcro tab off the top as it’s usually a little bit of a hassle for me. This is after 3 to 4 months of constant use. I don’t own sneakers or any other shoes; I wear these daily.

Please stay away. I have been in Law Enforcement for nearly 30 years. I have exclusively used Bates boots for most of that time. Those boots were made in the USA, these aren't. One of the selling points, is that there was no break in period. Comfortable from day one. The first day I wore these boots, I couldn't wait to get them off at the end of shift. The quality just isn't the same. The sole wears out too quickly, on concrete.Please. Please. Please...Start making your boots in the U.S. again. I have recommended this brand to hundereds of new Officers. I would not recommend them anymore.

These boots didn't make my feet sore breaking in and are very comfortable. Not my first pair I usually get a couple years of daily use out of them.

I loved these boots til I needed them. I've had alot of pairs of bates and never had this happen. Even when in Corrections walking many miles in the compound.. I had an extremely rough night Friday. A wicked storm hit us in north Georgia and two trees blocked the road to a cabin I was staying at. I had to hike a mile up a mountain and back down 2 times in same night to that cabin and vehicle in process of clearing road. The zippers on both boots blew out and now boots I've only had since January are useless. Will Never get this pair again!
