Not necessary, makes learning harder.
Bought for my daughter who is 6 and sent back within 2 days. if your goal is to help a newby adjust to riding a hoverboard its totally unnecessary. One major problem is that the bottom which connects to the hoverboard actually moves in every direction. Left right forward and backwards. So when trying to keep your balance (which is what i assumed it was for) you will be MORE unstable with it than without it. Because now, in addition to worrying about your feet, your now worrying about your hands on this bar moving too far forwards bacwards and to each side. So when i saw how crazy my daughter was looking when using this, i decided to take it off and let her try without it and boom... she was much more stable and confident without it.In my opinion people will learn how to ride farely quickly without this and this is not something that will help. If it was just a solid bar that didnt move at the bottom i may he able to see how it could provide some stability but because of how its built it makes learning harder.My daughter learned how to ride like a pro without it in 1 day and so did I as an adult. Clip is weak
It's ok. It fit our board and it made it easier for my little one to balance. Just didn't last long. The clip that held it on only lasted about 30 minutes before it broke.

Hoover board handle bar
Would not fit around my Hoverboard said it stretchable it was like 3”inches too short! And they wouldn’t give me my full refund. They said you could return it January 31 but then when I go to return it they said the window was close for return it and that was Amazon that said this! Does not fit around a hover board don’t buy and don’t wasting your money and two hours of your time trying to get your money back!!!

Didn't fit
It didn't work for are hoover board it was to small but I didn't have an issue with returning it so I gave it a 5 star and it came quick
