Very good sling mount/magazine tube clamp
This is a very good piece of equipment. It combines a clamp to keep an extended magazine tube atatched to the barrel with a two-position pushbutton sling mount. The mount is all steel, and comes with one removable sling mount that can be placed on either side. The receptacles for the sling mounts are universal and you can use other manufacturer's mounts as well as the one that comes as part of this package. The receptacles hold the sling mount in one of four positions, they do not turn once they are inserted like on some other mounts. This can be seen as an advantage or a disadvantage depending on what you're used to. The mount is held on by a machine screw and nut that are removable. This means that the kit has five parts total. The kit comes with small silicone pads to prevent marring and to give a slightly "sticky" surface so it's not just steel on steel between the mount and the barrel.I originally rated this 4 stars instead of 5 for two reasons. First, the sling mount receptacles are on only the sides. It would be nice to have a bottom mount option as well. Second, the screw that holds the two halves of the mount together is slightly too short, and getting all the parts lined up and fastened tightly is a little difficult with only two hands. After using the mount for a couple of months, I've upped it to 5 stars. The side mounts alone work fine with a side mounted rear sling, and I don't remove and re-attach it enough (never so far) for the short screw to bother me.Overall, this is a very good sling mount and mag clamp and I would recommend it to anyone.

Finally found a Quick Release connection for my 870
I looked and looked and looked for a quick release sling connector for my Remington 870 to no avail. Something of high quality, not composite - otherwise known as plastic - and not a rail mount.I did look at the CDM Gear BMT with 3 slot rail - Shotgun Flashlight Mount, as I wanted to mount my Surefire too, but its expensive and I wasn't 100% positive it would accomodate a quick release swivel. This is it. You can attach a AR style quick release sling connector to the front of your shotgun with this. You can also leave the original sling attachment or remove the one that comes with this mount - on or off, right side or left side. They provide two small nuts that replace the Magpul ring which I did.The only drawback is that this mount locks the quick release into place, it doesn't swivel. The original Magpul mount ring does not swivel either. There are four positions you can lock the quick release into, so it works fine.It is also a much more stable and better looking forward tube connector than what was provided by the factory.Highly recommend and super easy to install.UPDATE:After a defensive / tactical shotgun all day course I wanted to update the review. After approximately 150 rounds the bracket had moved all the way up the barrel to the front of the shotgun. It also left a huge scratch on both sides of the feeding tube.Apparently this is not a unique incident. It happens, so be prepared. This is not because it was not not cranked down and tightly connected. It's just not perfect. The scratches on my shotgun really annoy me too.

It's a sling mount, no more, no less.
Great for being a barrel clamp while also being a minimalist for barrel real estate. Takes everyday wear and tear like a champ and hasn't failed me yet, like any quality product from Magpul.Installing it is a bit of an ordeal. The clamp came with two nuts, my Mossberg only had enough screw space for one nut for the included screw to grip onto.

Not Up To Usual Magpul Standards
This accessory is generally well made and appears to function properly on my Remington 870. However, the installation is a pain: lack of tools and horribly incomplete instructions.First, tools. The installation of most Magpul accessories requires an 1/8 inch hex wrench; which is usually provided. This mount requires a 9/64 inch hex wrench; which was not included or cited in the so-called instructions. Probably explains why some reviewers have reported issues tightening the screw.Second, instructions. Both halves of the mount have one end marked '05'. The other end is marked '4' on one half and '8' on the other half. The '05' ends are longer and have a larger radius. These ends fit the magazine extension tube. The '4' and '8' ends are shorter and have a smaller radius. These ends fit the barrel. Insult to injury, these markings are covered after installing the silicone pads. Now, every time the weapon is disassembled, care must be taken to ensure the halves are returned to the proper orientation.Absolutely zero mention of these details in the so-called instructions. The barrel and magazine extension tube have over 1/10 inch diameter difference. Unless the halves are properly oriented, installation could be unreliable, if not dangerous.Furthermore, on the production unit received, the sling mount only aligned properly (parallel or perpendicular to the barrel) on one of the halves. On the other half it was cocked. The hex socket on the screw was slightly malformed. Also, odd that spares for the nut and silicone pads were provided, but not the screw.First time I have ever been disappointed with a Magpul product...

Works exactly as it should, just dont over tighten
Have this on my Mossberg, rock solid and sturdy mount to run a sling to. Do not over tighten it though, as it will cause feed issues due to binding in the tube. Install was easy, this is another really great accessory from Magpul!

Didn't fit my 930.
Great product. Great quality. Best I've seen on the market at a great price. The product description was spot on. For 500 and 590. Did not fit my 930. Had to return. Bummer!
