Orange Super Crush 100 Watt Amplifier Head, Black

Don't let the simplistic control panel fool you; this is a very versatile amp. Clean channel goes from pristine to just on the edge of breakup with tons of headroom. Dirty channel can do everything from bluesy breakup to classic rock crunch to beefy alt-rock distortion. Kick it in the teeth with a Tube Screamer and you get some gnarly metal tones. This thing sings and screams when you want it to. It takes boost pedals very well, the fx loop is clean, and it responds pretty well to the volume pot and pick attack. Lots of bang for the buck with this head.UPDATE: So Ive been playing this for a few months now and I'm very happy with it. I've used several different guitars, cabinets, boost pedals, pickups, etc, and this head always delivers great tones. Never mind "for the price" or "for solid state," this is straight up just a great amp.

Bought this head in hopes it would solve some volume issues. Playing out, playing at home. For the most part sounds the same. Loud or low volume. Can still get the harmonic tones and responses at low volume. Unlike my tube amps. Very pleased. Did a fare amount of YouTube videos, but they did not touch on this. Well, know you know.

Was able to dial in the sound I wanted very quickly. Followed instructions I had seen on a YouTube video. Set everything to 12:00 and work from there.

Wonderful amp! Dual channel clean, dirty. The selection and controls for both channels are clearly discernible. Plenty of tone, mid range, hi, low, reverb, gain, volume. Good looking case. Well built. Quality design. Very sturdy. I’m using the balanced DI output to connect my powered 3 way speaker cabinet. I built a custom shelf for the Orange super crush 100 amp head to place on top of my QSC speaker cabinet. Perfect!

Arrived yesturday plugged it in and Wow! I needed an amp to run my modeling unit. I run the footboard to the return of the Orange. I have a Pedal Baby but I wanted an amp also in case the pedalboard failed. This thing has killer tone and the power section is perfect for my needs. Another great Orange Amplifier!

When it works, it’s outstanding. Beautiful tones and tons of volume, perfect pedal platform too. Unfortunately, after a couple months I had intermittent volume drops, and most recently the clean channel lost all of its clarity and became almost fuzzy for no apparent reason. I run the speaker and xlr direct out simultaneously; if that’s some kind of no-no then perhaps it was my fault. It’s a little heart breaking either way, it was almost the perfect solid state head.
