For me they were perfect. The belt fit me perfectly and I am a size 16 woman's size. If you are much larger I don't believe this belt will fit you. The ice pack was not heavy and layed against my lower back nicely just in the right spot. Was not big and bulky. I would buy again.

Quite handy to ice areas where it is hard to keep an ice pack in place. Such as thoracic region or even lumbar. The ice packs could be colder/stay cold longer but they do work quite well. Having two packs to alternate is quite handy. All in all a very good product.

I rate this item 4.5 stars! After a severe back strain I immediately ordered this for both heating and cooling affects. It conveniently comes with two gel packs so you can have one in the freezer and instantly follow up with the other one heated. It comes with a comfortable adjustable belt that would fit all body sizes and holds the gel pads in place so u can be mobile in the process. I would rate this 5 stars but I feel like it would be better if it was offered in a little bit larger gel pads. The size of the pads is great for a small localized injury but with my entire lower back in pain I wish it was just a tad bigger. This is also a good travel size for on the go or can be worn while driving which is a bonus.

Just had major lumbar spine surgery a few days ago, and I was anxious to get home and try this ice pack belt made with a gel, rather than the ones in the hospital that used ice chips- which are angular and hard and sharp and very uncomfortable against tender and sore muscles and tissues. I wasn't disappointed. The gel packs take just a short time to get down to temp, and I just keep swapping them out: one in the freezer, and one on the lower back.The velcro closure works easily and the belt is nice and wide, so it holds well around the waist, without squeezing the breath out of you, and without being uncomfortably tight. The fitted bag that holds the ice packs also has a velcro closure.I'm happy with my purchase, and it's well-made enough that I'll keep it in the medicine chest for any potential future need.

After knee surgery, we needed an ice pack that could be strapped on and stay in place. This is perfect. I only wish I had purchased two!

works great for my lower back pain! The belt is long enough for me, but has 2 extensions if needed.

So easy to heat the gel pack in the microwave for 30 seconds. The pouch and strap hold the gel pack in place. It stayed nice and warm for the 20 minutes you're supposed to keep it on. My knee felt so much better. I haven't used the gel pack cold, but I am sure it will be good for relieving the stillness and swelling of my arthritic knee.
