You need this with metallic Foil
This worked great. I never needed to wait 30 minutes for it to turn clear. I suggest practicing on something less important first. I watched many YouTube videos and people used tweezers , thus tearing the foil up to the put on large spaces. Drop the tweezers.Put the Mona Lisa Sizing on your item and set aside. If your foil is inside paper holders , lay out the amount you think you’ll need with the flimsier side of paper facing upwards. Now carefully fold the protective paper back half way and crease to keep open. Do this for several or all of your planned foil pieces. When the sizing turns clear, carefully pick up a foil ‘holder and have the side that’s half exposed facing outwards. Apply that edge to your item to be gilded. Then you can tilt item and move hand releasing the rest of the foil. Use smooth paper to slide over foil to smooth. You may want more area exposed at the beginning. It will definitely look better than if done with tweezers in small bits. Also buy the Speedball Varnish to seal your work after the glue has completely dried. It’s an important step and dries quickly.

Great for everything
I’ve used this for many things already and I love it. It rubs off if you mess up. If you let it dry all the way it has very strong adhesion for the type of glue it is. It will work for gold leaf obviously, but it’ll work for leather straps being kept in place on a chest or for reapplying old stickers or making your own window stickers! I love this stuff and a little goes a long way! Stir it first!

Works for what I need
I’m a professional artist and I often like to goldleaf my projects. So far I’ve always used this glue because it seems to be consistent and works well to adhere Metal leaf to canvas, paper, wood and more. My only complaint is that the glue can leak through the bottle if it’s not sitting upright and the lid can get very gunked up. I only have to use one layer thickly applied typically. I have had to apply a second layer of glue before the leaf sticks properly, so make sure that you put it on generously without missing any spots.

A little goes a long way
Good adhesion. Before application, wait 5 minutes so it becomes tacky.

I am satisfied
I actually found that this didn't stay sticky for very long at all. This is probably because I was doing tiny dots and really thin lines. The first time I did it, I waited for 30 minutes like the instructions say, and there was no stickiness at all. I am doing 2 eggs (one is pictured). The second time I tried, I went around the egg putting the adhesive on, and by the time I got back to the beginning it was already dry/clear, so I just put the gilding flakes right on.Make sure to stir it up well, for like a few minutes, and scrape the bottom. I noticed it had separated. I didn't completely mix it right away and one thing I noticed was that I couldn't see the shininess of the adhesive when it was dry. After I mixed, I could tell where I had placed it because the egg was kind of satin finished and the adhesive was glossy. It probably just wasn't sticky enough either, being mostly water or some other liquid.
