Q: Does this item come apart for cleaning?

TableCraft item H5633 swings out for easy cleaning, however the entire unit does not disassemble.

Q: Indoors, is it ok to keep salt, sugar, etc in the containers for long term storage with occasional use?

Well, they do not deal so I do not believe it is the best for long term storage, sugar would be a problem. Rimming stations are best when you clean them and put for ingredients all the time.

Q: How stable is this and does it hold up over time?

Yes it's stable, I've had mine for over a year now. I love it.
