18" SMOKE STACK EXTENSION FOR OKLAHOMA JOE'S LONGHORN

This is an extremely well-made, high-quality thick metal piece of equipment. Very much worth the money and I’m sure if you have a recent Oklahoma Joe smoker it will just slip on.I have a Brinkman smoker, 2015 vintage. Brinkman originally designed what is now the Oklahoma Joe smoker, (Oklahoma Joe bought the design I believe in 2018)The original Brinkman smokers were made slightly differently, and to a bit of a higher standard. The smokestack on a Brinkman is a 4 5/8 diameter, as opposed to the 4 inch on Oklahoma Joe. So, this would not fit my Brinkman smoker, but with a little MacGyvering and a metal collar and some high temperature tape I was able to make it work.It works really well, the additional length on the stack does definitely improve the draw.If you are trying to take your backyard level quality Oklahoma Joe and make it into a more professional smoker, this is definitely a step in the right direction.Other mods I have made is adding some fire brick to the firebox, which improves heat retention and overcomes the to thin metal construction, and also I have added a baffle plate inside to help direct the hot smoke and minimize the major hotspot that is inherent in Oklahoma Joe type smokers.Bottom line is with some mods an Oklahoma Joe can be a decent smoker and produce good BBQ, and I use it if I’m only doing small things like a couple racks of ribs.

I was very excited to get this. I saw it was fit specifically for Oklahoma. Joe longhorn... Was excited! It arrived. I painted it black. Waited 2 days for the paint to dry completely. Went to install it on my smoker, and it does not fit. I will now have to take it to a welder to have it cut, and remade which is what I should have done in the first place. This extension did not fit my brand new Oklahoma Joe longhorn offset smoker. My fault for painting it before making sure it fit, but you would think the advertising would be correct.

It arrived on time and fit my OKJ reverse flow Longhorn perfectly. I put on a few coats of high temp black paint and it’s ready to smoke. This is very well made.

Built out of very sturdy steel, but does not fit my product. It implied it did but they left out a small detail. Otherwise it’s a good product.

This extension will not slip over a smoke stack measuring 3.5 inches as stated in item discription. I had to take it to a welder and have it welded. The stack I received was welded crooked when made. Not going to send it back will make it work but the item discription and pictures needs to be clear.
