This will be my third Polti steamer I have owned since 1980, although slightly dearer than some on the market they are extremely reliable and enduring and carry on working for ages. As the years have gone by the design of the machines have improved getting lighter and more manoeuvrable with a wide range of attachments. This machine is a great improvement on my older one, being lighter to pull behind you and the shaped head to clean close to edges and around corners. The best improvement is that I can keep topping up machine with water on the go without having to wait for it to de-pressurize before adding water. On my first trial using this model I filled machine with water and I cleaned my lounge carpet, oak wooden floor, laminated floor hall and ceramic kitchen tiles plus the stair and landing carpet and the bathroom cushion flooring and there was still plenty of water left in machine. It also comes to pressure so much more quickly than my older models and the force of the steam is extremely strong for such a small unit. This machine is very easy to pull behind you and cleaning is easy as the pipe and handle are light and flexible, you also get a selection of attachments included which are useful for other types of cleaning jobs such as oven, work tops, glass, showers almost anything you need it for. It can freshen up mattresses and soft furnishings removing odours and in mattress helping to kill 'anything' which could cause allergies. This type of steam machine cleans and definitely refreshes the home, smells 'new' with no over the top scent of cleaning materials as it just uses tap water. If your carpets are extremely dirty then I suggest a clean with a standard carpet cleaner first and then keep up the cleaning regime with the steamer, this is not a vacuum so only emits steam and does not suck anything up. This model is so quick to set up and get working with which means you will use it alot and more often than a larger machine, which could take ages to set up to clean. I personally feel that my home is hygienic and smells 'clean' after using this machine and all with no chemical cleaning materials. Carpets keep their pile using the steam and all flooring comes up spotless with no puddles of water as after cleaning it dries very quickly and walkable on. The small size of this machine makes it easy to store away in a cupboard anywhere in the house, its design makes it easy to set up and use and then put away. Definitely a cleaning tool to be used not just stored as it is too much hassle to get out to use as some machines out on the market are.

Pros-- strong steam useful for (bathroom grout, window tracks , hinges etc)- refillable without waiting for cooling time-comes with a variety of accessories each applicable towards a certain needs ( e.g- grout tool, sockette etc)-quick warming up time , don’t have to wait yonks to use itCons-- before using , when warming occurs, a crackling sound is made which makes it scary to use, no offence , I don’t want anything exploding- when steam is ready to deposit , water seeps for a couple seconds before steam is made ( problem seen with many steam cleaners)- heavy so be careful when carrying- quite pricey considering it doesn’t last too long - my last one of the exact same model lasted only a month which was dissapointing considering the money put down in this

Its very easy to use. I bought extra cloths as they get very dirty and when doing all the hard floors and tiled surfaces its useful to be able to change them frequently. The plastic prongs on the bayonet are not very strong and a couple have already deformed which means the attachments are not held in place. Other than that it is quite light and easy to move. The design is let down as there is no easy way to store flex or hose but most attachments have a home.

Love this steam cleaner. I don't use it on every clean as it's a bit bulky but has great pressure output, cleans tough stains and stand up easily, that was a good feature for me as most of those tools don't.

I have had 5 bar top quality politicians steamer, that appears to have dropped in quality the last few years, as I have had polio for 22 years. This is only any good for floors and tiles but not grout and deep cleaning. So it is an expensive floor steamer.
