The tip of the refill is smooth what for allows for easy writing.. The price is on the higher side and it has to come down or people will look for other manufacturers which provide similar refils. Infact I found the same refill but not cross for 1/3 the price at the book store near me.. Not the same ink but for regular use who it's fine.

I have an old cross pen. I love the feel of using it, but it was not writing very smoothly. I should have immediately thought of the refill which is almost as old as the multi-decade old pen.
