Do they get very hot in the sun?

It could, but what you do is add napkins to decor it so it doesnt get hot. Also nice decorative rubber to place on them....

How wide are they? I would like to know if i can fit the grommets of my banner though them.

They are about 1 in to 1 1/2 in wide max. I don’t have them currently on hand to measure. But I do know this due to the amount I had used on a large picnic table on a windy day, lol!
