Ludwig LC178X016 Questlove Pocket Kit 4-Piece Drum Set-Black Sparkle Finish, inch

I bought this for my son in 2019. I have been playing myself for 20 years and have owned a variety of different kits through out those years. My son has loved this set! As of recent I have had to play in some tight spots while gigging, I had a thought to replace the stock heads, add some better hardware and tune it up a bit. Hands down a great kit. From skilled to beginner, this set up will not let you down.

This is a decent little drum set. I know it says for 4-10 year olds but I had a small space I wanted to fit these drums into that a full size kit just wouldn't have fit in. I'm 6"2, and this thing fits me just fine. Out of the box everything sounds decent. I upgraded the cymbals with a cymbal pack and added a 20" ride and a 16" crash. Next I'm looking at getting new drum heads, not that the original heads are terrible but they could definitely be better.

We have a 5 year old that received this set for Christmas 2020 (a few months ago) when he was still 4. He is a true drummer. Plays all day long — we have experienced a ton of wear on cymbals and drum heads. If you have a child who’s going to experiment, this is perfect! If you have a child that is a dedicated and passionate drummer, purchase real cymbals and new stand/arms and then this drum set will be perfect!Again, this drum set would’ve received 5 stars if we didn’t notice wear and tear in the first week of ownership; however, this could be due to my son’s playing for hours each day. 😬😂

The media could not be loaded. This is my first acoustic kit, and I've had it for a couple months now. While there's nothing else like it for the price, it is expectedly flawed. The cymbals and hi-hat need to be replaced, because they comparatively sound awful. Additionally, the hi-hit turns inside out after repeated playing, and the hi-hat clutch constantly comes loose. These things are to be expected from a kit this cheap, however. Would recommend!

The drums have a good sound and I love the fact that it came complete with a cymbal and hi-hat.

Warning! Warning! Great stuff, BUT... sorry, their website does not work, and their password protected WEBSITE IS THE ONLY INSTRUCTIONS!!! It will let you in for only one of the dozen or so Video's you've bought (to assemble and learn), but then it locks you out, and the reset password does not work. And you'll never even get a single email from them. So close! So close! But it's sitting in pieces in my living room for days now. I saw other reviews say the same thing - thought I was better with computers (since I am a software developer) but I can't fix their broken website, and no other way to get instructions. Oh well, I will just live without the instructions for assembling, tuning, and learning to play, that were promised AS ADVERTISED.

I've been playing/teaching drums for 25 years. Different bands, different styles, many different drum kits over the years. I was looking for a small but good quality kit for my nephew and niece to start on and I came across this one, and I have to say the sound you get out of this pocket kit is incredible. Easy to assemble, and the kids were playing within an hour of us opening the box. The quality for the price cannot be beat. There is no better starter kit for young drummers. The kit is getting a lot of use by the kids (and parents/aunts/uncles) and their friends. Look no further for the right kit to get the rhythm going in your music room.

I picked this up for my daughter for Christmas and she has been playing on them ever since. They have been able to withstand the punishment of a 5 year old banging on them for the last 6 months without issue. They sound great and are very durable.
