Lenovo ThinkVision T24v-20 61FCMAR6US 23.8-inch LED Monitor, Raven Black

Just opened it and set it up and then tried to connect it using the cable supplied and it just wouldn't fit into my laptop's HDMI port - very weird so spent 20 mins trying to figure out what I am doing wrong only to realize that the cable that comes with the monitor is *not* and HDMI cable. The monitor does appear to have an HDMI port but the cable, best I can tell, is a DisplayPort cable. Seriously - if the monitor description says "Connectivity: HDMI" I expected an HDMI cable!! Now have to buy an HDMI cable - might come and update my review if the monitor experience afterwards is pleasant enough to warrant an upgrade.

I work in a bright room and the brightness on these monitors is really bad...I WISH that I could return these, I just started using them because I finally got home from a hiatus of traveling.I've heard better things about the t24h-20 so I am going to try and get that one instead.Lenovo, PLEASE help me return these monitors... I know that I'm out of the return window but they are brand new out the box and they are causing me a ton of eye strain because of the brightness.PLEASE HELP.
