Loved, loved, loved this hero - the cover helped.
A DREAM TOO FAR is a standalone read with a HEA. The hero is a widower, he loved his wife with a passion and when she passed he turned to work. For him, his work earned him lots and lots of money. He was able to have his personal driver wherever he went, a plane to take him there, houses in California, Montana, and several hot vacation spots. He had everything money could buy. He was happy enough with his life. He didn't know what he was missing so he didn't miss it.The cover of this book is the hero!! You can see him as you read the book. I loved that. It was easy to see him as the hero and the things he did fit the character you are reading about. It helped me keep a visual. I think it added a lot to the story. Now, our hero is happy with his life until he meets Chris. She is a widow with two grown sons.Chris was married to an alcoholic until the disease killed him. He made her life hell before he died. He wanted to quit but not bad enough to actually do it. It marked her in a lot of ways. She has started her life over in a small town where her two adult son's and their families live. She has a job, her own home, and the freedom to do as she pleases. She is quite happy with her life. There is an attraction between the two. Even at their age, they really shoot sparks off each other. But it is not an easy path for them. Seymour is a very wealthy man, use to a lot of very nice things and his job. He is slowly realizing that money isn't everything and he wants Chris in his life.I really liked him. I didn't care as much for her. She, to me, seemed to think she was perfect and had all the answers. She kept talking about her freedom and independence but I wondered if she was really thinking her job and friends would be a good companion and lover in her old age? I also didn't care for the way she seemed to put down wealthy people. Their diamonds and limos could erase poverty in some countries. However, she arrived at the event in a limo as well. Not all wealthy people think only of themselves and want to be seen. I have known some people that were that way and they didn't have money. She just preached on it too much for my liking. It was like her way of living was the only right way to live. that sort of turned me off on her.I thought the book was great and it covered a lot of fears and problems that older couples face. Speaking of...I would have put Jack in time-out if he had been my son!! He was just a bit too much to me. It seemed Chris allowed him more freedom to tell her what to do than she considered allowing Seymour to do. It is a great story and a great read and I definitely recommend it. I loved the older main characters. I get so tired of reading about the 20 somethings that act like children instead of adults. So a story about people that had a bit of life experiences under their belts was a welcome change. This looks like a good series. I think Kevin contributed to this story. He fit the hero to a T, to me.I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 8/26/2019

Such a great story!
Beautiful story of second chances. I highly recommend this one! This series is so wonderful. Sweet, but gets to the heart of the matter.

What a wonderful story.
This author is unbelievable. I enjoyed this story but not as much as the Chance/Hope series. I've thoroughly enjoyed everything that this author has written.

10 stars!!!
It still astonishes me how SJ McCoy can take so many characters from several different series' and weave them so seamlessly together, and still make it work out so perfectly. Her stories always makes me feel like I'm coming home. Her characters are far from perfect, they've all been through some major life crisis of one kind or another. This is a very eclectic group of people from all walks of life. Some of them are very wealthy, some are just living a comfortable lifestyle, and then there are the ones who are still struggling to make ends meet. But....they all have one thing in common. Unconditional acceptance, without judgement. Her stories draw you in from the beginning, and won't let go. By the end of the story you are both elated that you've gotten to re-visit family and friends again, but also sad because you suddenly realize that it'll be a little while before you'll get to see them all again. The story with Chris and Seymour was absolutely fantastic, or as Isabel deemed him ---Seesaw. LOL! She sure had him in the palm of her hand, didn't she? Just too cute for words.I love that they took their time to really get to know one another, before jumping into a physical relationship that might leave them both with regrets. I am so glad they worked things out enough to move forward, and still respect each others way of life. After reading this story, I have also become very intrigued by Ivan. I want to know what makes this man tick, but even more....I want to know which woman it was at the lake that caught his eye. Hmmm...very mysterious. I was also elated to see a few people from the Montana gang again like: Anthony and Jane, Hope and Chance, and little Dylan. We also got to visit quite a few from Summer lake, too. I can't wait to see where Ms. McCoy takes us next. But where ever it is, you better believe I'll be right here waiting from the journey to begin.

You’ll love this book
I can’t get enough of SJ McCoy’s books. I actually feel like I’m part of the stories & that this is my group of friends. There are no age limits. Everyone is friends with everyone. If you are looking for a great series, read all of the SJ McCoy books. They all link back to Summer Lake which sounds like it would be an ideal place to live & work.I’m so happy that Seymour & Chris found each other. This was a difficult step for both of them for very different reasons. Both broken-hearted for very different reasons, they are able to open up to each other and let love in again.

Another great one!
I really love the romance stories of those in my age group and this story didn't disappoint! Chris and Seymour's love story is simple, for the most part. I loved that there were no major disagreements or misunderstandings between the couple. Thye were upfront and honest and open with each other. It was so refreshing. I also love catching up on all of the characters from previous books. Thank you SJ for another terrific story!!

Amazing five star read
Another fantastic book by a fantastic author. Loved Chris and Seymour together. She sort of reminded me of Missy when reading about her. Seymour was also a great character seemed reluctant to move on from the past but came out all the better for it. Going to love this series showing the older generation can find love too. You mentioned alot of our Summer lake family in this book but not Ben! Hope he's okay but you did mention Chance and that makes my heart happy. Another five star read. Happy Publiversary and Happy Release Day.
