I use these in my water collection IBC tote and, if used as directed, it saves me a lot of time when I drain the tote for the last time at the end of Fall when I discontinue water collection in freezing winter months. It keeps the tote clean enough that I don't have to spend time and water hosing it out when totally drained. Just wish they still offered the pack with 10 or 12 I used to get instead of just 6. Now paying more for less.

They say, they last a week, I say they don't, if your cows drink out of the container you use them in.They do keep the water clean, until it's drank.

Works well as long as you circulate the water

I have goldfish and mosquito fish in my troughs, so weekly dumping and scrubbing is not an option for us. Plus, I have 7 - 150 gallon troughs, so that would be wasting a bunch of water each week. When the weather gets super hot in the summer, frequently above 100 degrees F on the reg here, I want the animals to have clean water to encourage them to drink. I am constantly on the hunt for the solution to have reasonably clean troughs. The stock tank defense has been added to what we already do to help slow the growth of algae and it seems to help, but just minimally so in my black Rubbermaid troughs. However, they do help better in the non-black troughs. Not sure if they have a temperature range that they work more ideally in?? Maybe the black troughs just get too warm? Not sure...so if you have no black water troughs, these might be a good option to help reduce your cleaning on your water troughs.

We always use this product for our stock tanks. The plastic container is an improvement over the foil pouch. Thanks

This is a good product and does what it is intended to do, when it arrives in good condition. I have previously purchased these from a local retail store in the 6 tablet pack. When that retailer was out of stock, I turned to Amazon where I found the product in a 24 tablet plastic container at a more economical per tablet price. However, when the product arrived with the container in a shipping envelope the tablets were broken to bits and pieces. I would suggest the manufacturer fill the empty air space with some sort of filler like cotton to keep the tablets from bouncing around and breaking in the container while in transit. I would also suggest that Amazon or other on line ordering sites, package the container in bubble rap and a durable box so the product arrives in good condition. It is ashamed that a good product, such as this, gets destroyed by delivery services due to handling and poor packaging.

This works well for us. Clean the tank and drop in two. Keep track of when to clean and change tank again. We do 2 weeks.

These tablets keep our livestock water clear; however, algae still accumulates on the tank bottom and walls albeit in a very thin layer.
