Greenwood Essential Pure Galbanum Essential Oil (Ferula gummosa) Steam Distilled Natural Therapeutic Grade 5ml (0.16 oz)

It's almost tempting to believe in reincarnation as this scent seems to reawaken long lost echoes. A favourite of the women of ancient Rome, it has an earthy piquancy. I don't know whether I like it or hate it but it can't be ignored. Very unusual.

Galbanum has a strong woody aroma although it originates from a species of Ferula, a family of giant fennels. It is used in perfumes, cosmetics and foods. As a massage oil I like to blend it in a carrier oil with sandalwood or vetiver if I want to create a masculine aroma. If I want to create a lighter aroma I blend it with citrus oils or flowery aromas. If you are new to aromatherapy always use it with a carrier oil, there is good safety information on line, as the bottle and box are too small to carry this vitally important information. I also love using it in my diffuser, I can see why it has been used since ancient times in religious ceremonies and as in ingredient in holy incense. It creates such a wonderful mysterious atmosphere.Greenwood Essential have produced this oil in a glass bottle which I love with a tightly closing plastic top. Unfortunately this top is not a child safety cap so it is important to make sure that it is kept out of reach and out of sight of children.The 5 ml bottle is currently priced at £ 9.99 so a reasonable price enabling one to try it out if you are unfamiliar with it. The oil I received was packed in March 2021 with an expiry date of Feb 2024. I had very fast delivery.

I did some research on this and some trials show that this is just as effective as using gel NSIADS, and as effective as diclofenac.I was fascinated by this, so makes it with a carrier oil and gently massage into my hand where I suffer from RSI. I was absolutely astonished to find that on me, it worked!Enthused and excited I mixed some up for my friend for her son who damaged the ligaments in his foot playing football. It didn't make any difference on him but then he has got a serious and very painful injury.This has been used for hundreds years as a anti-inflammatory, and I think it's definitely worth a try as it's much safer than taking ibuprofen type gels or tablets.Never use neat. Always mix with a carrier oil. Even vegetable oil will do.

This is another great oil from Greenwood. I have to confess that I had not come across Galbanum before and in all honesty the fragrance is not my favourite - it's a very strong, earthy sort of smell and takes some getting used to. However, as with all essential oils, it's not just about the aroma, it's about the health benefits too. This one is said to be good for arthritis and skin problems. It can be used for massages when heavily diluted in a carrier oil, in a diffuser etc.Greenwood oils are always very good quality and this is another which I am very pleased with.

It has a very earthy fragrance which is nice.You don't need a lot just a couple of drops to add to your massage oils ( no instructions so they must hope you know what your doing)I have also used in my defuser which is nice and spreads a strong fragrance ( which I find relaxing )throughout the rooms

Oil 5 ml pale yellow. The aroma of the oil has a bright fresh scent of herbs with balsamic notes. The oil has a good healing and soothing effect. I use it for soothing relaxing baths. I really like the oil, the oil is so fragrant that after using it, you get the feeling that you were outdoors in a field of flowers, and all the fatigue just leaves your body. I advise everyone!

I like the scent of this, it's a spicy, woody fragrance that earths brighter oils - it blends well with citrus oils in a diffuser and the scent is relaxing and balancing. It can be bought much more cheaply than this so maybe shop around.

Another of my favourite woody scents, Galbanum is one which is getting more and more use in my house at the moment. A bit more expensive that many others out there, but as with all the Greenwood oils I've tried its worth paying the extra.
