WD Red Plus 10TB NAS 3.5" Internal Hard Drive - 7200 RPM Class, SATA 6Gb/s, CMR, 256MB Cache

These are fast and most importantly they are quiet. Very quiet.This is not true I understand of the other sizes only the 12TB

Working well so far in Nas but noise is loud

Upgraded a Synology DS920+ from 4x4TB, to 4 of these. Installation was very smooth (but took a couple of days) and I now have 26.2TB usable. Drives are also much quieter than the previous ones (Toshiba NAS N300). Very happy overall.

I purchased these to replace my old two 2Tb drives in my Synology NAS. I just needed more storage space so 10Tb was a great choice. They perform well and installation was a breeze thanks to the copy software that allows one new drive to be copied from the old drive, then when that's done, whack in the second drive.I wasn't prepared to fork out on the much more expensive Silent Pro version so these Red Plus were a good compromise.Yes they are noisier than the silent Pro ones, but I can't say the very slightly louder running speed is a distraction.Swings and Roundabouts really

Works as described and is quieter that the drive it was replacing (Wolf 12TB).

Quick delivery from EBuyer via DHL. Unfortunately they don't offer any pick-up locations, so that's over £200 sitting on your doorstep until you get home. Also no notifications from DHL, so I had to ask a neighbour to check and rescue the package from my doorstep. Not ideal.The drive itself is dated Feb 2025 on the label (delivered May 2025), and WD warranty runs until 3 years plus a month after delivery date, so there's every chance it is a brand new disk. Other sellers might not be as reputable as Ebuyer.The HDD (12TB WD120EFBX) itself is exceptionally noisy - in total contrast to other reviewers who say it is silent. Mine is installed in a Synology DS423+, which is a bit of an echo-box, but even so. You can feel the whole NAS vibrating with the disc spinning. Once it starts actually read/writing data its like a drum tattoo. It has been migrating the data from the old NAS which took 24 hours - I could hear it from the upstairs bedroom chundering away all night downstairs. As I type this I can hear the drive in the next room. The previous NAS had two drives installed and you could barely hear them, this drive all on its own easily drowns out the old pair.Too early to comment on reliability, but if the noise keeps up I'm going to have to find a new home for it.
