As the old struts collapsed when I was adding washer fluid, I knew they needed replacing, and expected the dealer to be a bit higher. These look the same other than not having the words identical to the original In a couple of minutes each side was changed out (You just need a thin common screwdriver. It now works correctly - when the hood is about 2/3 open it raises the rest of the way by itself - but is very easy to close. OEM parts are $65.68 per side, or you can pay 25.99 for both from Boxi.It was a hard decision but I went with Boxi. Highly recommended.If your not sure how to install them do a Youtube search. Its very simple.

These were a perfect fit for my 09' GS 350. Seem to be very good quality and less money that what Lexus wanted for theirs. I mean, at the end of the day it's a hood strut. If it's holding open your hood when needed.....it works, right? Some parts are not worth skimping on if you plan to keep your car running top notch for a long time...but a bad hood strut won't ruin your motor, so save your money and get aftermarket.

Took approximately 2 minutes to remove the old struts for the hood and the trunk and another 2 minutes to install the new struts. No more banging my head with the hood falling down or heavier than required lifting to open the trunk. We are very happy to get our 13 year old car back to new condition in regards to the hood and the trunk. This was a low cost and no brainer fix to an annoying issue. The struts are strong and yet still close easily.
