This rca to HDMI converter is exactly what I needed. We have a WII and when we bought our new Samsung TV it didn't have a rca plugin. Hooked this up and it works perfectly. It's not mandatory, but you might want to order a USB to AC converter or find one from an old cell phone charger. If not you can power it by plugging it into a USB on the back of your tv. Would recommend if you have the need like I did.

No problems setting up on PC. I am using it with an old VHS to transfer old camcorder tapes to MP4. I would recommend it to friends ( but actually I would just lend them this one since I don't use it all the time).

This is a great product; I was a little Leary about it when I first used it, because when the tape first started to transfer from the VHS player to my TV it looked like it was going to be an issue. but it cleared up after a few seconds of playing. The best thing that I found out to do is get the tape rewound all the way to the beginning, then start it and let it play after a few seconds it clears up. If you are going to transfer to DVDS try this, then start to transfer when it clears up. Doing this fixed my problems, I would say this is a great buy, and I do recommend this product.

The product reflects the limitations of the past technology adapted to newer HDMI technology which presents a better image in general. The limitations of the device are only those and there is no suffering from deterioration of the image from what would have been seen with legacy receiving display technology. Overall the installation is intuitive and the suitability is fine and saves a good deal of money where a newer digitally optimized equipment is not to be had or readily within budgetary means.
