Build a better mousetrap and the world will beat a path to your door
And really, that's what Oral-B has done here.I purposely waited awhile before I wrote my review. I wanted to get a feel for the brush and how it stacked up with use over time. It's just shy of a month and a half now (Oral-B recommends replacing every three months) so we're 50% of the way.Let me preface by saying I have crowded teeth. They are in good shape, I take care of them, but they can be hell on a toothbrush. There are areas were it's difficult to get floss thru. On average I go thru a regular toothbrush in about a month or so. That being said, let's review. The Oral-B 3d has a good feel to it, the grip is over-sized and comfortable with grooves in the back that make it easy to hold. There are two buttons located near the thumb rest, one for off and the one directly under your thumb for on. This is smart having the off button further down the handle so your not accidentally shutting it off, etc. The handle tapers off into the brush head which is very slim and, get this, split down the middle. We all know our teeth aren't perfectly flat; they have grooves and peaks and this split enables the vibrating head to remain in physical contact with the area you are cleaning. Simple, but really smart. And the results are excellent. My mouth feels cleaner and I'm actually brushing my teeth more because it's so much easier and the results feel rewarding. The vibrating head is powerful and 41 days in shows no signs of wear. A few bristles are starting to curl on top but I would have tossed a regular brush by now and this is still holding strong.I bought electric toothbrushes in the past only to end up going back to a manual. The reasons are several but the worst is replacing the heads; hugely expensive, you can't find them, they stop that model number, etc, etc....what a pain.At the end of three months I toss this and get a new one. It's environmentally sound (I would have tossed THREE toothbrushes in this time) and, I LOVE this, it's financially sound, I would have BOUGHT three toothbrushes in this time so it actually saves me money.I realize it's only a toothbrush but my teeth are important to me and this is a very smart and well made upgrade to a product we all use.I'd call it "Toothbrush 2.0"Highly reccommended

love this toothbrush
It may be silly, but using an electric toothbrush makes me more likely to brush my teeth. I had a horrible experience in the past with a non-disposable electric toothbrush base getting gross and stinky over time, so I feel more comfortable with ones I can replace. Setting up subscribe & save so a new one comes in the mail every 3 months, as recommended by dentists, makes it so easy to replace it as soon as it's time. I've gone through 4-6 of these and never had a problem with duds as other reviewers have mentioned. I've never tried to replace the battery because it lasts until it's time for a new toothbrush anyway.

A great compromise for those not ready to give up manual/or go high end electronic
I've been using the Oral-B 3D White Pulsar Manual Toothbrush for a month now. I was surprised with how much I like it. It strikes me as a great compromise between the higher end electronic toothbrushes (think Sonicare) and a good old fashioned manual toothbrush. First, the bristles, they are somewhat stiffer and at varied angles and result in a good clean feel. The bristles seem made to last. The battery powered vibration is a nice touch, and you still get to control the pressure as you do with a regular manual toothbrush. (and, yes, you can and I have used without turning on the vibration). It fits in the hand just like a regular manual toothbrush and I have not noticed it to be discernibly heavier than a regular toothbrush. Cons: It doesn't turn off by itself, and, at first, I had trouble finding the off button. I can't tell you how long the battery will last as I have not had any lapse of battery power to date. In the interest of full disclosure, I received this product free from Oral-B.

Bought Again - Would recommend others buy it
Just bought my son a replacement of this (He is 9 years old)...He used it for 5 months without the battery failing on him (like others have commented)...mind you...Im guessing he only brushed his teeth 5 times a week (as he forgets a lot)...anyway...I bought this again, so I thought I should recommend it

The whole family is happy with this toothbrush
Makes brushing easier for the younger kid, and also enables them to do a better job of brushing. And even for us adults, that pulsing action can only enhance your brushing so that your teeth get cleaned better than just using a "manual."
