I mix this bark in with coffee in a French press and it makes a stimulating drink. It gives me energy for hours. But don't drink it if you're trying to sleep.

I made a weak tea, drank it, and did not die. I made a tincture with about 5 parts vodka to 1 part of the bark. The tincture stained deep red almost immediately. After just 2 days the bark shavings in the bottom of the tincture jar had turned to a black, tarry goo. Wtf is this stuff? The tincture smells kind of like blackstrap molasses. I might try some. Maybe better make out my will first....
