Q: Is it necessary to run water for a few minutes before drinking the filtered tap water?

While you shouldn't run the filter every time you pour water unless you are putting in a new filter, it is advisable to run the cold water faucet before turning on the filter if you haven't used the cold water in a while. So, if it is the first time turning on the tap in the morning or if you've been out of the house for some time its important to let the cold water faucet run for some until the water is actually cold. This is because when the water doesn't flow it sits in the pipes and may have elevated levels of lead or other particles. Let it flow for a couple of minutes then use the filter.

Q: Will this replace the frxs2 filter and if so are there instructions how to do it?
