Well worth the $$
These are very inexpensive and beat having to buy a new microwave. Took about 15 minutes to install. Just make sure you get the one you need, my microwave had 2 different types. I just ordered the exact same number as the old one and it is up and working.

Samsung SMH1816S door switch
Our microwave was turning on when we opened the door. This was used on a Samsung SMH1816 Microwave. Watched a couple brief YouTube videos. Easily identified the broken switch as seen in some of the videos and made the repair in about 30 minutes total time. Wife helped to hold the control panel so I didn’t have to totally unplug all of the electrical switches! Great product for easy repair. Saves big money compared to a repair person coming out.

It worked perfectly, saved me hundreds!
My over-the-counter microwave got hot and steamy inside when I activated a 3 hour cleaning cycle of the oven (the stove was directly below it). From then on, if I just opened the microwave, it started beeping loudly. It still functioned otherwise (cooked food), but the beeping was driving me crazy, and I wondered what else was wrong. Fortunately, a dear soul on the internet had written a very detailed description about the same problem, and how to fix it without calling a Samsung repair person (I figured that would probably cost me the price of a new microwave). He noted that one of the switches can be damaged from too much heat, and that it just needed to be replaced. To be honest, it was difficult for me to get the parts off to get to the switch, and a friend helped with the final part, but when it was exposed, the lower switch didn't "click" when pressed, which meant that it was fried (or at least dead). The changeover from old to new switch was straightforward, and putting it back together was smooth sailing as well. It likely saved me from buying a new microwave!
