This man changed the direction of my life. If you wish to read a biography, this may not be it. If you wish to read about the Ascension of a Christ like figure, this will captivate reading the Master's diaries and comments. A must for those traveling up the spine, Tantrics and those who worship.. Shama is a profound gift to Humanity. This book is for the seeker of Truth. This decreased the activities of my mind and had me in complete safety under the Banyan Tree called 'Shyama Churn'. Even his name Shyama is addressing 'the dark one's feet'. Mother, THANK YOU.

I ordered the paperback but got the hardback.This book is hugely important, at least until the day Yogiraj’s journals are released to the public - which may be never.Satya Charanji would have daily readings of this book among his disciples - that is the level of importance it carries in Kriya Yoga lineages. Unfortunately, for those who are not on the kriya path or who practice Yoganandas teachings, little will be understood. This is not an elitist position, it is just the book contents are very niche to kriya practitioners in the traditional param para teaching and manny points need experiential knowledge or personal guidance of a guru to understand.That said, it is fantastic and the sections on Yogiraj’s life are beneficial to all.This is my second copy as I wanted a travel copy and copy to keep from getting destroyed.

Yogiraj Lahiri Mahasayaji was the harbinger of this age of the science of Kriya Yoga for the sole purpose of elevating man to his divine stature. Dr. Chatterjee has done an incredible job of sharing the great Yogiraj's revelations and high states of consciousness, giving us a glimpse of what we all can attain through the divine guidance, wisdom, and love of such a one sent by God to help mankind out of the vicious cycle of human birth and death.

Book arrived much sooner than expected, in brand new condition. Would give six stars if I could! Very happy with this seller and my purchase.

A must read book for those practising kriya yoga

...then you'll love this book. It's not an easy read, for sure, but it more than makes up for that by offering its readers a very deep look into the life and teachings of Lahiri Mahasaya, the great Indian Master of the sciences of kriya yoga and self-realization.

Life changing information.

This biography was very difficult to read. It was based on Lahiree's diaries. You would be shown a bold transcription of the original diary entry, then a translation of it into English along with what could be pages of commentary. The commentary and translation were not at all separated and it became quite tedious ploughing through the punditry of Purana Purusha which was translated again into English. Very awkward sentences and intense philosophizing detract from the subject: Lahiree's life work. There are precious few anecdotes showing the life of Lahiree considering the 378 pages. There is a definite spiritual vibe in reading the book, but it was much more of a chore than a pleasure.
