It is much sturdier than it looks. It is surprisingly comfy.
I am a tall desk person who constantly shifts position. I like the ability to sit, lean, or stand. The radical height adjustment is the point that makes this a great chair. Foot pad is thick and supportive, good for long days standing. The seat is wide and padded in the front for leaning. This whole surf board looking thing does a great job at keeping me from being uncomfortable, by giving me new options to lean or sit without slouching over the desk. There are two cylinders for the stool height. One operates with the foot pedal, one operates with the handle under the stool. I am 6ft, this goes as high as the middle of my back and low enough to mimic a lower office chair.Assembly is easy and straightforward. I would argue this is easier to assemble than a typical office chair.Con: The foot pad slips off the grip paper, it requires multiple adjustments through the day. There has to be a way, especially at this price, they could make clips or build in fasteners to keep this from sliding onto the floor.

Good customer service outweighed my experience with the product...
I had a bad experience with the perch chair and anticipated a similar experience with customer service. But to my surprise, they resolved the matter quickly and efficiently. I would even say a new standard has been set for response time and resolution with this company. I may not buy the chair again, but I would give the company another shot because of the great customer service.

First VIVO branded product I don't love.
The concept is great, but the execution of it leaves a bit to be desired.Pros:Sturdy - I weigh around 250lbs, and it supports me fine, both standing and sitting.Well-built - I've never bought a VIVO product that felt cheap. I trust the brand and have yet to regret that trust in terms of quality of construction.Easy to move and adjust. The easy movement of the chair is also a bit of a con. The seat height is easily adjustable and feels secure when repositioned.Cons:The rubber mat doesn't stay in place well and has to be constantly readjusted. The chair is easy to move by tilting back onto the small wheels and pushing or pulling a needed. One flaw (some may consider it a feature) I've noticed however is that it's possible to accidentally move the chair if your weight is leaned back and you put a foot on the floor and shift some of your weight to the floor. When I did this once, the chair moved back a considerable amount and I almost lost my balance. This was mostly an issue for me because I had major knee surgery several months before and the movement startled me and I had to suddenly shift weight to my injured knee. I've since learned from the experience and occasionally move it that way intentionally. Again, I'm a big man 6'2", 250lbs, so this accidental movement may not be an issue for smaller people, but if you have health issues with stability or balance, it's worth taking into consideration.Overall, a great concept with a few noteworthy design/ execution flaws.I would still recommend this for most people who are interested.

I am 6'4" 210# and this works great
I use it so far as more of a lean against seat, it will hold you in place at the desk. The fatigue pad stays in place it cannot slip or you can use the pad by itself to stand on as a fatigue mat. Sitting on it is kind of awkward and I use a pad that I have for that. If you run it all the way up __43" measured to the high side on the back and then sit on it then weeeeeee you will feel like a kid with your legs dangling-- very stable...(just do not lean back!!!)

seat bolts keep falling out
Just got my VIVO chair a few days ago. Twice now one of the 4 bolts have literally fallen out from where the neck of the chair meets the actual seat. And it has been a different bolt each time. Since the bolts screw in from below the seat, when they unscrew themselves, you are suddenly surprised as the bolt suddenly hits the floor.I have tried to tighten the bolts as much as possible, but they seems to unscrew themselves over the course of me actually sitting on or leaning against the seat. After the second bolt fell out a few minutes ago, I checked the other 3 bolts and saw that 1 had half unscrewed itself and a different one had one-quarter unscrewed itself. Not sure if the bolts attaching the chair neck to the seat portion are just a little too narrow in diameter, but it does make me worried about the bolts that hold the chair neck to its foot base as well.

Impressive
This is a really well built and beautifully executed concept for a chair. At $300 this one is a bargain.

First they lost the package then it came and after 3 days it got broken on the base.... worst wasted money of my life !

The seat smells musty.
Mostly, the stool came as expected, but the seat has a strong odor. I am not sure if it is just a byproduct of manufacturing or if this has been stored wet and caused it to funk. I am not too happy with the odor. It's making me want to return the item.
