Works well
I moved into an apartment without a basement; the house sits on a cement slab. I kept my tatami directly on the floor where I previously lived, but wanted it lifted so air would flow underneath. I feared it might mold in these conditions, and also wanted to prevent cold from seeping up. It seemed to be unstable when it was rolled out with nothing on it, but once the tatami and futon mat were placed on top, it didn’t move at all. This is perfect for me and should last for my lifetime.

Stronger than it looks!
This half fold slat system May look delicate, but works extremely well for its intended purpose. It was well packaged and arrived promptly without damage. Instructions were easy to follow and assembly was simple. I’m happy with my purchase. Would definitely buy it again!

Moldy Mess
Overall Rating: absolutely not recommendedPros:Easy assembly: The frame is easy to assemble, requiring only rolling out and connecting two pieces.Cons:Cracked frame upon arrivalDeveloped mold within a month, which spread to my bedSpecifics:There was a small crack in the frame upon opening the box. While not major, for the price, I'd expect it to arrive in great condition.More concerning was the development of mold within a month of use. This mold then spread to my bed. So now i need a new bed in addition to a new frame. And the smell was apparent. That's how I first noticed the issue. Conclusion:Despite the ease of assembly, I would not recommend this product due to the cracked frame (potentially due to being fragile) and mold growth. This is absolutely not worth the $200 it cost. I could have bought another minimalist bed frame for less the price.

Great frame for toddler floor bed
We started using this as a frame to lay our mattress on the floor for our toddler. It has held up remarkably well and most importantly prevents moisture/mold from building up underneath the mattress. The edges are sharp so using corner covers is important. Highly recommend.

Simple but thinner shiki futon mattress
Bought this to help with getting used to sleeping on the floor and getting rid of our old and all to soft mattress. This futon is a genuine Made in Japan shiki futon. It is light in weight and easy to fold and put away. It is not one of those American style futons, which I feel are too heavy and are made to be used with one of those folding sofa bed frames. This futon is all cotton, and is made to be used directly on the floor or if you buy the accompanying wood slot frame. The frame just lifts you off the floor by a couple of inches and also provides much needed air circulation to the bottom of the futon. Like I said this is a traditional Japanese style futon, which much be folded away or at least aired out every few days or so. If you don’t air it out it can get moldy or mildewy on the bottom.Ask me how I know this…well we got lucky and started to actually fold it up after about two weeks worth of sleeping. It was summer and we noticed that the underside was starting to get moist, so we were able to air it out in time before it started to get mildewy. Best part due to its lightness, you can just carry it outside and let it air/sun dry for a few hours. This really helps to keep it looking and smelling good, especially if you are a bit sweaty. So remember to fold it up and turn it over to use both sides and also to air it out daily if you can.

Collapsible
Works well for keeping my futon mattress off the floor without losing the flat, firm surface I need. It also folds up well and has Velcro straps to keep it together for storage.

improved customer service, combo set up helps
I bought twin half-flood slatted bed in staggering manner. The first one in Nov arrived safely. Second order in Jan arrived with damaged packaging and I could see broken slats inside the packaging. I returned it unopened via UPS and requested a replacement. It was processed with no hassle, and Amazon shipped the replacement right away. Noting another review that is disappointed with return policy, it looks like EMOOR has changed its return game. So, order without worry now!By now, I have two twin-sized shikibutons with wool layer (I wrote a review on this product) and one queen-sized standard (polyester?) shikibuton. My setup right now: two twins slatted bed side by side, two wool-layered twin shikibutons, and the queen shikibuton on top. This turn out to be the best set up for us. There is enough cushion to feel comfortable, but hard enough to support our backs (we are side sleepers).I am writing this review to help others with back issues to make decision on shikibutons by Emoor. It is working for us with this set up, and it has helped remedied my lower back pain issue. I wish Emoor produces Queen-size wool-layered shikibutons on top of the twin ones. Thank you Emoor!

Not durable for the $200 price
The media could not be loaded. Ordered this for a solution for my small room. The wood is lightweight and very fragile. I use this on a vinyl floor and it has broken in multiple place from daily use. After getting out of bed with my heel the slat splintered. Placing the bed on the floor cracked the wood hinges. The build quality is abysmal. For $250 please buy something more durable.
