MFJ-347 MFJ347 Original MFJ Enterprises 3/8-24 Double T Pipe Mount w/so-239, Hamstick or Dipole Mount

I used this connector to make a portable/base station dipole (for limited space) It is very simple to put together: put a hamstick on each side, plug in the coax, and put it up in the air. I have used it on a wooden pole about 12-15 feet in the air as well as just tied to a tree about 5-6 feet in the air. It works great. I have made contacts in several states across America. Right now I only have 40M hamsticks, but I am going to buy some 20M ones soon. I highly recommend buying this connector if you want to get on HF but don't have the space for a long wire antenna.

TYPICAL MFJ, DEFINATELY DOES THE JOB

Works great, just needed to carefully adjust the 20m hamsticks to proper length using a nanoVNA. Was able to get SWR to around 2:1 where I was operating (bandwidth is very narrow with hamsticks), which was good enough for what I was trying to do. Would work even better with an antenna tuner to get it closer to 1:1, but very usable without an antenna tuner if you have a nanoVNA to dial the hamsticks in just right.

These when bought with 2 hamsticks as a complete dipole unit come with the short hamsticks, less stress on the insulator. I ended up making my own out of 2 pro trucker extra heavy duty 3/8-24 cb antenna mounts and a flat steel bar drilled to fit. The mounts are way bigger and stronger and stainless to boot.Take off one side insulator so the one side mount grounds, keep the other side mount as bought

Excellent mount. I bought this to set up a 40 meter dipole on a portable tripod with a telescopic mast. It assembles easily and with a tuner I have been able to get from 40 to 20 meters with no issues. You won't be disappointed if you purchase this product.

Total junk! Broke into 10 pieces after only an 8 foot fall from mast into grass! I am typically very high on MFJ products, but in this case it lived up to the name... Made From Junk

Although well made they use plated bolts and nuts which start rusting almost immediately. If you plan on buying this item be sure to switch out bolts for SS ones.
