GM Parts 55566784 Engine Oil Cooler and Oil Filter Assembly

I have a 14 cruze 1.4L with 102k miles, which had oil and coolant leaks in this area. This is a GM oem part with all the proper markings. Replacing it is a big job. Ensure to keep the plastic fitting in the turbo oil return pipe hole in. One video says to remove if you have a turbo, but it needs to stay in. The original one I removed has the plastic fitting installed. I believe it is used as a safety valve in case the oil line breaks free. This was a great price. Ensure to replace all lines, hoses, etc while you are replacing this.

I seen that this was an original GM oil cooler and was skeptical at the price. Item is a GM part but looks to be damaged from where it was shipped from. Packaging was in good shape and was not a shipping issue. Looks new and shows no sign of being installed before. At the low cost I wonder if this site buys the damaged stuff from GM suppliers and sells it here hoping that the damage does not affect the parts functions. Clearly this damage makes the part useless. Sending back for a refund.
