This works just fine - after considering sizes, measure your pans and find the best fit for the double boiler pot. My previous version was a perfect fit, made with the pan, but alas, it did not work on my induction so I have a new set of pans which made me purchase this double boiler with a less optimal fit.

For years I have just used a metal bowl with a small pan. Then I learned to make truffles. I need to heat the milk first, then the chocolate in a different pan. Now I heat the milk with this. Then use the bowl for the chocolate. Then I can pour the milk from this pan into the bowl. The pour spout helps, no spills, and the handle does not get hot (unlike the bowl) so don't need a potholder. Wish I had bought one of these years ago.

I bought this to melt chocolate to make popcorn, chocolate and M and M's. It does the job and cost me very little. Perfect for me. I highly recommend it.

These are perfect for melting lots of things - from wax to candy. Stay cool, long-enough handle. Pouring spouts are wonderful.

Whatever you need a double boiler for this will fit into your existing pots and pans. I highly recommend it and I'm buying one for my sister-in-law.
