Had to buy a real XL7 ICV. It's cheap for a reason. It doesn't work.

My application is a Suzuki DF175 outboard. This Idle Air Control (IAC) valve device appears to be Chinese-made, while the Standard Motor Products (SMP) device available on Amazon is made in Japan, and of course the Suzuki or Mitsubishi device is also Japanese. I bought both this one and the SMP. This IAC arrived first, and it worked. How long it will work, I don’t know.The unrepaired engine would start and then shut down after 6 seconds. No error codes. The service manual gives instructions on testing each of three circuits in the IAC for resistance. My original IAC tested only one Ohm higher than the specs on all three circuits. The new IAC tested .5 Ohms within specs, but it worked when installed.The IAC moves an air plug in and out of an air hole on the intake manifold. It does this by turning (advancing or retracting) an internal screw, allowing more or less air to pass. If you plug the IAC into its wiring without being installed, you can see and hear the screw move when the ignition circuit is on, before cranking the motor. My old IAC did this, even though it did not allow the motor to idle after start. Apparently there is an open setting (call it stage 1) at start, and a less opened setting (call it stage 2) for idling. My original IAC must have closed the air gap at stage 2, thereby killing the engine.
