Q: Can this cut through denim jeans?

Yes, but they are not the best. I could not find any on amazon that are great for denim.

It has the strength to do it but not the leverage of typical carpet cutters. So you'll need strong hands.

Q: Has anyone tried cutting leather with these?

WIFE HAS USED THESE ON HEAVY MATERIAL.

Q: What about cutting carpet fringe?

Im not sure about fringe. I had trouble cutting synthetic pad and cutting a loop carpet I was doing for a custom set of steps. My napping scissors, which are not designed to cut heavier material, only to trim nap, went thru it fine, but these scissors couldn't handle it. I believe if I had fringe to cut I would opt for a good pair of napping scissors.

My favorite pair of scissors!

These scissors are great! They are sturdy, strong, and sharp. They fit perfectly in my big meaty hands and they cut through thick EVA foam like a hot knife through butter.

SUPER SHARP and they hold their edge!

Aaaccchh!! I don't know how I got by before I bought these. They're long but that's what I need when cutting fabric, helps cut a much straighter line. These are well-balanced and have a good heft in your hand, aren't gonna slip out. I use them for everything except cutting paper, which of course dulls scissors. I haven't had to sharpen these yet and I've had them for a few months and use them pretty much daily. GOOD BUY!
