Q: Is the strap made from faux leather?

Don't think the strap was leather but it's been changed for a metal strap a while ago now.

Q: Anyone got the instructions to set the date as instructions with watch were for a different watch.

I think you have to pull the winder out either once or twice to change the date. It's one of those options.
