Q: Does this breaker lockout work with older circuit breakers?

Our circuit breaker lockouts can fit a range of circuit breakers, both old and new models, depending on the width and thickness of the toggles. This breaker lockout can fit breakers with 1-½” wide by ½” thick toggles.

Q: Will this fit single, double, or multi-pole circuit breakers?

This circuit breaker lock is designed for single pole breakers with 1-½” wide by ½” thick toggles.

Q: Can the circuit breaker be locked in the ON position using this lockout?

Although it depends primarily on the design of the circuit breaker and is not generally advised for safety reasons, our breaker locks can lockout a circuit breaker on the ON position.

Q: Can the breaker panel door be closed even when these lockouts are applied?

Generally, yes. But that depends if there’s enough space between the panel door and the switches.

Q: How to ensure no one accidentally removes these breaker lockouts once installed?

TRADESAFE circuit breaker locks come with padlock holes so that LOTO locks can be easily affixed to them for security. Our lockout locks are available in eight colors: red, green, blue, yellow, orange, purple, black, and white - sold separately.
