New life to an old phone
I am surprised at how this battery has brought new live to my old Pixel 3XL.I am not going to say that it was easy to install. It took lots of patience and a magnifying glass. There are many good instructions on the Internet. I would suggest watching several videos over and over again before commencing disassembly. I used lots of 91% isopropyl alcohol. To heat the back cover, I heated a cast iron frying pan to the point where it just became intolerable to touch. Then I placed the phone in the frying pan and let it collect the heat for several minutes. Upon taking it out of the pan I began squirting the alcohol along the seam line while at the same time prying the seam open with the guitar picks provided.Once open the inside components were not foreign to me because I watched several videos many times over.It does take a keen eye, steady hand and lots of patience along with a bucket of common sense, but the end result is a like new Google Pixel 3XL!As you probably already know, the adhesive to reattach the back cover is not provided. But for about $5 more you can buy T-7000 glue on Amazon also.Note: When I first powered it on after letting it change to 100% plus 2 extra hours, I noticed that it seemed to discharge nearly as rapidly as the old battery. But the more it discharged the slower it discharged. And when it was finally down to just 1% battery, it lasted for over a half hour of continuous use.So, am I happy? You bet!

Not a 4850mAh battery
Like me, you were probably lured here by the promise of a 4850 mAh battery.Like me, you probably think this is too good to be true. After all if Google would have been able to fit a battery with over 40% more juice into this phone, why wouldn't they have done it instead of putting in a measly 3430 mAh battery? The answer is physical size, as this battery is the same dimensions of the original, it is unlikely that it could actually provide 40%+ more power than the original does.I'm an avid user of AccuBattery and after about a week of charging cycles this battery it reports only about 3200 mAh of power. Now I'm willing to not take these measurements as exact, but even with a 10% margin of error, this battery is maybe (maybe) as powerful as the original, and likely a little worse off than the OEM one. That being said, my original battery was likely somewhere in the 70% on battery wear and had swollen up enough that it was literally popping the back of my phone off. Even though I hope to get a new phone this year, the 3XL is still fairly solid and a good backup phone (or hand me down) for a another couple of years at least. I decided to go with this one instead of the one from iFixit (OEM), mostly based on cost. It was basically $25 for this and some B-7000 glue to put the back on again vs. iFixit's $40 (plus shipping) battery replacement kit.The main thing that you are not getting in this kit compared to that is the pre-cut adhesive to re-attach the back. That thin adhesive is tough to work with as well, and even with that you are never going to get the same water-tight rating the phone had originally, so I opted for the $25 cost. My wife also has a 3 XL with a battery that probably needs replacing so, in the end, now that I have most of the supplies I will have been able to fix two phones for the cost of a single iFixit kit.I can definitely tell my battery life is way improved. Even if it isn't as good (or as advertised better), than the original, I'm still getting at least 30% more charge than I was on my old used battery and I've been able to make it through almost 2 full days with moderate use. Something I can't recall doing for a couple of years on my old battery. The problem with these non OEM batteries is that they sometimes tend to wear quicker, and so even though I'm happy for now, it is possible that there is a sharp drop off in under a year of use. The alternative however are the OEM batteries, which might not even be new, but rather have been sitting on a shelf for a couple of years. It is kind of a no-win situation but, for the time being, my phone is working almost like new.I will caution anyone doing the replacement to watch/read several tutorials. If you think you are being careful regarding the fingerprint sensor cable - be more careful! Even though I thought I was treating it gingerly it somehow ended up with a small tear in the cable and I needed to then replace my fingerprint sensor (luckily < $10 fix). So be very, very careful when lifting the back off, do it only enough so you can disconnect that cable. Also, some of the tutorials (I'm looking at you iFixit!) advise you to put a few drops of isopropyl alcohol under the battery if you are having trouble prying it up. Do not do this! I did, and even though everything seemed fine at first, within a couple of hours my phone screen was basically unresponsive and blacked out (after slowly exhibiting strange behavior). Luckily, after keeping my phone off for a day, the screen came back on albeit without very good touch sensitivity. Again, lucky for me, this slowly returned over the course of 3-4 days to the point that I think it is fine now. I can only believe that a small amount of IPA got down into the screen. So, if you must use it, use 99.9% IPA (I used 90%), and don't put drops in, but rather apply it to a spudger of some sort and work it in.

Should've got this earlier
I kind of waited to replace the battery which was swollen. It was swollen enough that the back screen on the left side popped off. I had a protector so it wasn't so noticeable. Replacing the battery wasn't too bad and I just tried to be careful with the existing gasket material and reused that. The wifi doesn't seem to shutoff as much anymore so that's a plus.

Great replacement with no adhesive for back cover
This battery comes with all the tools needed to remove the battery in the phone and put the replacement in. It does take a little bit of time but looking at repair websites and youtube videos showing the process make it fairly easy. My only complaint is it does come with the adhesive for the battery but not any replacement adhesive for the back cover so you can use what is currently there but it will not be as tight of a seal since it has been used. I am going to try it out as is and see how it goes but might still have to purchase back cover adhesive separately.

Saved my husband's phone
The battery in the phone had started swelling and seperating the phone. He bought a new phone but was complaining that it wasn't as good. With nothing to lose, I replaced the battery. Works perfectly. It's been a month and no issues.

Battery was defective and would not charge.
This battery would not charge once installed. I had to reinstall the old battery and order a new battery. I will not buy a SHENMZ battery again.

Replacement is hard, but worth it
iFixit has a good procedure, but is overly optimistic on how hard it is to release the original glue. Plan for significant amount of down time for your phone before attempting, and the process is not for everyone. This battery breathed new life into my phone. It allows the phone to operate for significantly longer than the 3-year old battery; It also powers the system even at a VERY low charge level (my phone continued to work even with 1% charge level.... previously it would crash if it got down to 14% on the old battery).
