Not a straight forward answer. This set would work very well for marking boards and other construction related items. Many people use pencils, chalk and other markers for construction related items. The 2 mm leads are durable and mark well on soft woods like pine and poplar. But many craftsmen may take exception that they are "for" construction. They may prefer cheaper markers with rectangular shapes. Some craftsmen prefer a metal scribe for dark hard woods. A chalk line would work better for concrete and tile. They have their reasons and preferences. But, if you are a contractor working on construction you may find the NicPro exactly what you want using the different leads to meet your goals on sheet rock, plans, architecture drawings, plywood, pine, etc.

This Nicpro 2mm mechanical pencil holds the lead firmly in its place. And it is firm and lightweight at the same time. I dare to say that I like this mechanical pencil more than the steadler brand. This is my second choice after the Sandford TURQUOISE 2mm mechanical pencil, because both of them perform with the same quality. I honestly recommend the Nicpro 2mm Artist Metal Lead Holder! Q: how good is the eraser?

These vynal erasers are best for high quality graphite drawings. They do an excellent job removing the graphite and don't leave residue or damage the paper. I have even integrated them into tools I use to create the drawing. I will lay down graphite then go back with the eraser and lightly remove some of the coloring to create shades of grey that look natural such as light hair against darker strands

Q: how do you load the lead?

you can reload that lead by taking off the the click part or what I do is chick hold then put the lead in make shore the lead is put in the right way like the sharpened end pointing out or the holder but some people put the new lead after taking the chick thing off put it in head first it easy to do it my way that what I do when replacing the lead I hope this helps
