Good value
I’m happy with the SEKC SSD. The controller is a Phison S11. Apparently this is not a high performing SSD controller, but I didn’t need it to be. This drive was installed in a 12 year old ThinkPad. Buying the fastest drive in this use case wasn’t practical or economical. The drive performed well enough and I’m happy with this purchase.

faster reading/writing load times for Playstation 3
For 120gb not a bad deal. I installed it in my PS3 and every gane Ive tested seems to have much faster loading times, and much faster downloading compared to a standard HDD. If you are looking for a cheap SSD upgrade for a PS3 or perhaps even your PS4, I would say this brand is pretty reliable. I have been testing it for a few weeks now and i'm having no issues so far. I will update this review if my hard drive seems to fail in the next few years.

Affordable, decent performance
The “short” review:It’s a very affordable SSD with acceptable performance! However, spending a little more will get you greater performance and possibly reliability.Tested against Samsung, Mushkin and SK Hynix SSDs and they were all somewhat faster and predictable (SEKC Write performance was a little erratic).Build quality is fine and installing in a MacBook Pro went without issue, MacOS High Sierra boots up quickly and is responsive during use.Ultimately, for day-to-day usage browsing the web, creating documents or even editing photos / audio / video, this should get the job done and save you a few dollars. If you have any concerns over longevity and performance for more demanding tasks, maybe look at more expensive offerings from Samsung, ADATA, SK Hynix, etc.The “long” review:The claimed Read/Write performance (550/530MB/s) sounds great but I think that is a little misleading; they have the same performance claim on ALL their capacities. Smaller SSDs are usually slower than larger SSDs within the same family.Tested the SEKC SSD in a mid-2012 MacBook Pro. Erased SSD and installed High Sierra. No issues. For testing, I used 2 applications: Blackmagic Disk Speed Test and Novabench.Blackmagic initially shows good Read/Write performance but rarely does it get above 300MB/sec. The Write performance would start around 270MB/sec and after multiple passes drop down lower and lower until it was only writing at 55MB/sec.Novabench showed more positive and consistent Write results: between 270-306MB/sec. However, Read speeds varied from 207-483MB/sec.Pretty solid speeds, certainly way better than a rotational disk! This is absolutely a worthy upgrade for vintage model MacBook Pros. However, in Novabench, I definitely see consistently faster performance from my SK Hynix 1TB SSD and Samsung EVO 830 250GB and EVO 840 500GB SSDs. Only my Mushkin Reactor 1TB SSD is slower (and even then, its results have a smaller and more predictable spread). In Blackmagic, they all seem to show a Write “dip” after a few passes but few really drop to the levels shows by the SEKC (and none stay there long). All drives seem to perform better overall within Blackmagic than the SEKC.Currently, the SEKC 120GB is $19.99, making it one of the cheapest SSDs available on Amazon. It’s also available in larger storage capacities, (240GB, 480GB and 960GB) and across the board seems to be a more affordable option than the competition. If you’re looking for GREAT performance and reliability, I’d have to suggest the Samsung EVO (or Pro) range. Used them for YEARS without issue. Also, I’ve been delighted with my SK Hynix 1TB for the past year. They all cost a LOT more though. The SEKC is now my bootable external drive for using old audio interfaces with my MacBook that need an older version of MacOS, and it performs well for that purpose. Definitely worth $20!

did what it was supposed to
It worked, I was able to play games off of my hard drive while this SSD ran everything. Deff held up with a I7 2070 super and a good size of ram. so deff worth more then you're paying for.I did get the smallest memory possible because it was to hold me over till my m.2 came in. but i might keep it for working on other computers or if i ever make a computer for a friend i will 100% teach him to not save anything on the ssd and just use it for boot and apsty

Very fast
This hardrive is a very quick and efficient. Windows 10 loads up in less than 60 seconds. I am impressed with this hardrive. And a very good price on top of it. Good job.

Made my 13+ years old laptop with only 2GB of RAM useable again.
This proves that hard drives are the bottleneck of old computers. After installing this SSD drive, the old 13+ years oldwith only 2GB of RAM laptop loads Windows 10 in around 10 seconds and I can browse the Internet without many hiccups and watch Netflix and YouTube with ease.
