Very late to review but this fishing rod has been amazing so far, I grabbed this late last summer to bolster my options. I'm someone that goes fishing on the Thames and coastal. With this rod, seeing the price and material I was skeptical but after landing a 21lbs ghost carp and 12lb pike I've got no issues. The reel is a bit temperamental but still gives you a smooth cast, have no issues with drawing the line back in but the size is my only issue. With the tip this rod can also be perfect for ledger fishing aswell as coarse which gives me the option to switch between using floats and weights. I really don't have any complaints tbh, it's held up, it's not degraded and I'm still looking to take this up Scotland this summer. 1 word of advice, any fish above 15lbs, take your time and just be patient because you will notice the strain sometimes where the fish put up a fight but for the price, this isn't just a begginers rod seeing as I've been fishing for over 13 years now. Would highly recommend, don't use the the frog lure as after a few strikes from predatory fish it literally disengrates

Very impressed & feels like a good rod & for a telescopic rod it's a quality bit of kit, at a reasonable price, nice & light with good build quality so far no problems or bad points. Might even get a second one & as I've not finished since I was a young man in my late teens now late 40s fishing with my son who I also bought a telescopic rod I'm just getting back into this & for a decent budget think I chose well.

Great Rod. Easy to deploy. Light weight. Reels a little on the small side for myself and my son so we used our beach caster fixed spool reels ( rods too big to take with us) and the rods handled them with ease. My son caught a 2lb, 14 inch bass on his rod that put up a rousing fight and the rod handled it with ease. If you are looking for a capable, reasonably priced travel rod you can't go far wrong with this cracking rod.

Seems ok, not used it yet. Bit confused why the reel goes backwards when winding in. Seems like you have to use it upside to be able to wind it correct way. Maybe i am missing something.However for the pric3 is not bad and my daughter is very happy and good way to introduce her to the world of fishing and nature.

My nephews were delighted with the 2 kits I bought. Would recommend. Found one of the rods threading mechanism to attach the reel quite resistant and needed a spanner and pliers to move but got there in the end - just a caution if you want to go straight to a lake or river...attach the reel first. Also the hooks supplied and quite big so maybe invest in a small packet of hooks as well. Caught fish and feels nice to hold so I’d recommend!

Cheap fishing rod, not worth £10

Arrived in good time, easy to assemble and appears to be really good quality for the price... I bought one because I keep being told fishing will help my stress levels lol now I don't know the first thing about fishing (yet) but the rod and reel definitely look like they will work... Some of the lures seem a bit toylike and I'm fairly sure the fish will be amused but all in all I'm very happy with this purchase... Only let down is the carry bag, it's not big enough to put the reel in so I'll need a separate plan for that and the hooks and lures and other cool looking stuff....looking forward to trying it out now...

This reel and rod work very well, are very sturdy and durable, casts as well as most higher end reels, is very packable, and just an overall a great product for a great price.

The rod is wicked. I do alot of trouting and this telescopic rod is the longest telescopic rod I've ever used that actually works as it should. It's sensitive and durable as well. I'd recommend to anyone who loves fishing.

I bought this as a gift for my grandson. Haven’t used it yet but I examined it closely. The telescoping pole is VERY sturdy as is the reel. The reel seems to be very durable too, unlike other “beginner” rods that are mostly cheap plastic and fall apart. This one is much better. Comes with hooks and lures that might be a little advanced for him but that’s not what I bought this for. I like the idea of sturdy telescoping rod since kids can’t generally walk with a rod without it poking someone or getting caught in a doorway. When you pull out each rod section it twists in to lock in place. I’m sure this will be a successful experience.
