Hi, this tool is a refill tool for filling coolant under vacuum, so you need vacuum pump or air compressor with vacuum function. We advise vacuum pump, for better vacuum effect.

Q: Will this pressurize the system after replacing thermostat?

This is SUPPOSED to create a vacuum so that it sucks all the air out of the cooling system and fills it up with coolant. Note that I said “supposed”. This tool is garbage and I left a review saying so. Don’t waste your money. Spend more money and get a better quality tool. By your question, maybe you are searching for a cooling system pressure tester in order to locate a leak.

Yes, it can work with JT008S6. If it's just for testing, these two tools will do. But if you need to refill coolant, then you also need to connect the vacuum pressure pump.

Q: will this vacuum the air out of a system that has been already filled or do you have to drain it first?

It doesn't have to be drained, it'll pull the air out of the system when you start pulling fluid then all the air is out
