My Nurse Practitioner suggested this
Although, I was never in nursing, I am retired AF. As an active duty enlisted troop, I learned plenty, and taught self aid buddy care. Which is nothing (I realize), comparatively, and after retirement, I worked as a bookkeeper in two nursing homes. I learned plenty in the nursing home especially, because I questioned everything, to learn!! So, I had enough info to make me.....confused. Lori

Mostly all about their training and preparation for Vietnam
Only seven of the cases explained what it was like to treat the wounded soldiers and POW right there off the battlefield. Most was all about training, their background and after coming home.

Interesting stories from nurses during that time.
The book is excellent.

Honest, sometimes painful look at nurses in Vietnam
Good detail on individual nurses' lives in Vietnam. Poor editing makes parts confusing. Good overview at start but no comprehensive sense of overall emotional and psychological impact of war on them as whole.

The care for war veterans that so little is realized with the nurses behind the scenes of war
Tells of the courage & care that military nurses do caring for the wounded

Very meaningful for former military nurses!
As a former retired Navy Nurse -who knew some of the nurses in the book including my own recruiter- this was a wonderful book. I plan to read more by Dr Rushton.

Vietnam War Nurses
These were good stories of individuals and their lives and Nursing. All the books I have read on Vietnam, both fighting and Nursing have been about all units but mine.I was with H Troop 17th Cav. Based on LZ Bayonet of the 198 th Light Infantry Brigade. Chu Lai was where I was in the hospital for shrapnel removable. The time July 68- May 69. Are there any books about these units during this time frame?
