DarcChic Mens Velvet Goth Steampunk Victorian Frock Coat

I have had this jacket for one day and it seems to be good quality. I was worried about size as well as everyone else on here. The charts are for Chinese so you must buy up 2 sizes bigger. I weigh around 230 pounds and have a chest at 48 inches from doing pushups years ago. I wear a large to XL large. I went up to a 3 XL and it fits nicely. A 4 XL would probably work for me as well. If I would have went smaller than 3 XL it would have been to tight. Mine has pockets, but it doesn't have slots to button the coat in the front. That doesn't bother me. If it had slots for buttons the 4 XL would have been better for that. Good quality product and has a liner, but it is not a heavy winter coat. It would be alright to walk from the car to the night club. or a short outside standing to wait to get inside. Wear a sweater if you need it for that during January and February months in the Northern parts of the United States. Great coat overall!

Fits well but definitely size up

Fits great, ordered size up. It's not they high end quality. But it is high end of the mid quality and if you're on here looking for a cheap jacket that looks like this... probly your best bet. I will say though the button holes arn't there ...it could be fixed on your own pretty ez. Just buy it if you wanna look like a fancy pirate or a sassy vampire person or host a goth theme wedding like I did.It's worth the money to look nice and you will wanna wear it again probly cause its solidly decent.

Jacket is good. Just sized wrong.Costume

So I ordered a large for my husband, which is his typical size, but it was too small.I was impressed, however, at the quality of this piece. Nice material. It was completely lined as well.This was to be part of a steampunk outfit for halloween.I'll be returning for a larger size.

I gave the jacket 5 stars because well...the design and actual finished product DESERVES it. The jacket isn’t shoddy or cheap looking, it’s actually very well made.I ordered this for my 14 year-old-son to wear for Halloween, he’s dressing up as King Diamond. I did the research and this jacket was the only one that looked as if it would fit the bill. The pockets are indeed actual working pockets, the fabric is a nice weight velvet and the jacket is lined. I was THRILLED when I opened the package, as way my son. This jacket is worth every penny.Yes, as other reviewers have stated, the jacket doesn’t button & sizing is a bit of a guessing game. My son is aged 14 & knocking around just under 6’0 tall. He’s a string bean in shape, wearing a size 29X32 to 30X32 in most jean brands, slim fit. He will soon cross the rubicon to a 34 inch inseam for his jeans. Chest size 35 inches, neck size 16-16 &1/2, arm length 32/33.He’s SLIM to say the least, in that way most teenage boys are. Tall, lean and lanky. Normally he wants his t-shirts to be size x-large because he likes them long, but he could wear a size smaller, a large, a medium and they’d still fit, just wouldn’t be as long as he likes em...I struggled with what size coat to order. I started to get a large, decided against, then an x-large...got worried that might not fit and in the end? I order the XX-Large. It’s a bit long in the sleeve but not by much & big in the body, but the buttons aren’t functional and even if they were, he wouldn’t button them. In the end, we kept the XX-large, he’s going to have on a dress shirt, suit vest & ascot underneath, so the extra room will make him feel less constricted.Yes, these do run somewhat small. As stated, an XX-Large was just a bit too long in the sleeves on him & too large in the body as well, but not so much that I’d go through the trouble of returning it and buying the x-large. This way, he might be able to wear this with a future costume rather than one wear and outgrowing it.Be mindful of the challenges when choosing a size but don’t let this put you off ordering the coat! It’s beautiful & you’ll be happy if you do. It looks just like the photo.

I am female but bought a men's XL so it woudl fit in the bust to wear to an immersive Bridgerton experience. The jacket arrived quickly, was very well made and really made for a great costume. Jacket is more an off-white/cream color, is lined, very well made and was comfortable too. Sleeves were a little long but again as a woman buying a man's jacket this is not an issue with the garment as they pinned up easily. I did not rate it for "Stretch" as the fabric's a lovely brocade and by design is not really meant to stretch much. Would definately recommend.

Sizing is tricky as there are several vendors on Amazon selling similar products with different sizing. For my 6’3” 200 lb husband I ordered a 3XL and had to exchange for a 2XL. He typically just wears a L. Also the cream color is striking but very yellow in hue. Otherwise a lovely costume!
