Needles have blades at the very tip of the needle. Precision sewing as a result. Been using them for years. I also use them when sewing heavy fabrics such as vinyl or canvas. Amazon has the best prices for this product.

Was having an issue getting stitches through 3-ply pleated masks...
These work perfectly. What I do is sew the majority of the masks top and bottom, turn right side out, top stitch on one machine and do the final stitching to add the pleats and the ties or elastic using a second machine loaded with these needles. Works like a charm. No more skipped stitches! Love, love, love them. They're a lifesaver! They go through the fabric like butter.
