This was easy to install in my life preserver. Bought two so I have a spare.

I am glad these are an option for my husband while he is out on the boat fishing. Unfortunately though, he has had two activate while he was just walking around. But again, I am just glad he uses them, and so I will gladly purchase another cartridge.

The kit is fine, but the bobbin has a mfg date that is already 1 yr. 5 mos. old (Feb 01, '22). According to Bluestorm, as of 2021, LeLand Gas now says the bobbins are good for 5 years from the mfg. date. According to LeLand gas, the "shelf life" is 4 years from the mfg. date. So it's a bit disappointing for a new kit to have a bobbin 1.5 years old (especially since I purchased this to hold as a spare). I'll likely keep it, but just something to be aware of as you purchase these kits (or bobbins).

There’s a lot of profit added to the price. The co2 cartridge is available for $6-7. The trigger is harder to find, but no way they cost $20 each. But, it was easy to rearm the life vest, and it’s a great life vest. You should probably replace once a season, so the cost isn’t too bad in the long run as long as you don’t end up in the water too frequently.
