It's a high quality nylon braided cable with a metal end enclosure. It's exactly what you'd want it to be.They've also included removable plastic caps (attached to the cable) on each end to stop dirt and dust from getting into the optical connector when it's not in use; a lovely QoL inclusion that cost them very little but makes the world of difference when it comes to long-term storage.

I got this to connect an Apple AirPort Express to some small hifi speakers I’m trialling (Ruark MR1 mk 2 and and possibly my older Marshall stereo unit that can take a digital input).It appears well made and the connections are suitably ’solid’.The jury is out as the whether the internal DAC of the Ruarks is better than the very good one within the Airport but both are very good for the price point. Not many people know that the AirPort Express has a great DAC inside and can output either analogue or digital from its single mini jack socket.Cable is braided and nicely made.

It seems to work connecting between my TV and the Alexa Studio - works for about 20 minutes and then I have to use the TV sound and then randomly, the sound re-appears on the Alexa. Now, no idea if this is the fault of the TV, fault of the connections, the cable, or Alexa ... without multiple items to test, really no idea. Still, the sound is excellent when it does work.Wish I had gone for the 3m cable as Alexa needs to be behind the TV (no big deal) but I would have preferred it on the floor in front of me but that is too far for the 1m cable. There is the slightest of latency with the sound but hardly worth worrying about and a lot better than using bluetooth - only trouble with the cable being, not sure which settings to use as there are number of them mentioned in the manual, they all seem to be much the same.

Ordered this optical cable for use with my recordable minidisc player.Does what it is intended for with no issues, and looks quality as well for the price. Hopefully it will last.

Brought to connect alexia to TV but it certainly wasn't 0.5 meters long

Didn't work with my tele as I have purchased a crap tele with coaxial spdif. Works brilliant on my mates tele.

As I said these are a little more than some but feel good quality. Based on its faultless in the uses i have it for and quality a five star from me
