Updated review. We couldn’t program but now we can!!
My husband tried to program this and couldn’t get it to work. A few months later my son in law came over and he tried to program it and it wouldn’t work. Not sure if this one is just a lemon or if it’s the brand. I would not buy it again. UPDATE!! I reached out to the seller who was very helpful. He recommended we change the battery. We did and was able to program it. At the same time when we programmed the keypad, it took the programming out of our vehicles and we had to reconnect those, but in the end everything seems to be working now I will change my stars to a five star. Even though it was past my return date, the seller was willing to change it out for one that was more compatible with my garage door opener. He was good to work with.

Works with very old Stanley Garage Door Opener with a bit of effort
My mother's home has a very old garage door opener from early 1990's. She lost her garage door opener many years ago, probably left in the car she traded in when she was still able to drive. Stanley support had no idea where to get replacement opener so I thought I'd give a hail-mary try and order the universally configurable opener. I followed the instructions for the only Stanley model they had listed. It required 15(!) pushes of the opener button and it still didn't work. So I did the opposite of what the instruction said about Stanley needing to be opposite and just matched up the DIP switches. And then I repeated the configuration process. On the 8th push of the button, the garage door started opening!Moral of the story with this opener: Don't follow instructions to the letter. Try different configurations. When configuring, ensure that you wait a second or two until the blue light stops flashing between button pushes.I'm just glad it worked. Had the instructions been more accurate for my garage door opener, I would have given it 5 stars.

Works very well for 2 garage doors!
I replaced our entire garage lift last year after 20 years, but the old keypad was not up to the new technology. I did find that this keypad is an EXACT fit for the mounting holes of my old one (see photo, grey is the new one). Programming was well explained in the documentation, and they have a video for it as well. I set it up so that one code opens the garage door built into our home, and a second code opens the garage door on an attached two-car garage we added later. Save those instructions!

Poorly English translated instructions and poor quality screws.
The product works fine thus far, I received it just today. It comes with a battery and two mounting screws. The screws are extremely bad, the heads strip even if you use a brand new phillips head or a slot head screw driver. If you are having difficulty getting this thing to work, let me offer some assistance (yay!!!)(1) once the battery is installed. Press the black Push button for 5 seconds to reset the device.(2) Then press the * and # together (simultaneously).(3) The red background keypad light turns on and then firmly press 1 followed by #.(4) The 1 followed by # means first channel on the device and alternatively you can press 2 followed by # as well. There are two channels for two pin codes on this device because some garages have two separate Doors with two separate motors. You can program the first motor for one code and a second motor for another code.(5) After you pressed 1 followed by # previously, press 01# (0 followed by 1 followed by #) if your garage door motor is a Linear. 02# if it is a Chamberlain with Red or orange learn button. 03# if it is a Chamberlain with Purple learn button. 04# if it is a Chamberlain with Green learn button. 05# if it is a Genie 315 MHz 1995 model. 06# if it is a Genie 390 MHz 2005 model. 07# if it is a Stanley. 08# if it is a Chamberlain or Craftsmen with Yellow learn button. 09# for a Wayne Dalton.(6) Next Press the Learn button on your Garage Door opener Motor!!!(7) Mine was a linear so I pressed 01# and after that you must press 1111# (sequentially) if you want to program the first channel. If you want to program the second channel on the device press 2222#. (Note: This part is CRUCIAL, it is not explained in the instructions very well!!! this is what confused me!!!)(8) Now your garage door motor is programmed to open if you press 1111# (if you programmed the first channel) or 2222# (if you programmed the 2nd channel).(9) Go ahead and see if pressing 1111# will open the door (alternatively 2222# if you programmed the 2nd channel)(10) If you see that 1111# or 2222# opens and closes the garage door, sweet, your keypad is Working. So NOW you must put in your personalized ACTUAL code or pin.(11) In order to do that, press the * and # button simultaneously AND then type in a code of your choice for instance it could be 1234 or 3579 or 1436 etc, follow your 4 digit pin or code with a #. You must remember this code.(12) Lets say your pin is 1234#, you must press 1234# to open the garage door.(13) If you don't remember your pin, open the battery slide door and press the black button for 5 seconds to factory reset the device and forget All previous pins or codes. Restart the process from (1) in this review.I really hope this helps. Its not even nearly as hard as it seems. If done correctly, you can do this in5 minutes or less!!! Good luck...

Keep instructions from this ad. Included ones don't work
So crazy. Easy if you know. User error I guess. This remote is a little extra to program. Just a few seconds though. My dozens are others are 3 buttons to program. This one's was about 6. Screenshot the instructions in this ad. It's in the pics.I've been replacing garage door openers for 30 years. I'm 2 calculus classes away from an engineering degree. Been working in electrical for 10 years and never had a hard time w an opener. It took me weeks of off and on to program this. Usually don't need instructions. I even watched several you tubes and read the paper instructions several times. All that for a remote? Lol.Today, on my way to store to buy one, I returned home to get this for return. Decided to try one more time. Turned into a dozen times. While processing the Amazon return, something told me to read the comments. Someone said to read the instructions IN THE SALES AD not the included paper. Lord it worked! Lots of extra button presses but now that Ik ... We are all good! Lol. I guess times are a changing again. Lol.Still a good deal. Feels sturdy. Clip fits. Whew.
