Best investment for carpets
Unlike other "throw away" shampooing extractor machines, these are built robust and completely clean able(some spots hard to get to) and you can get parts for them. Works like the rentals. Lays down the solution, scrubs, and sucks it back up very well. I can run this and the carpet is dry in just a few hours. Not like others that take a day to dry since they don't extract as well.As with any carpet cleaner make sure you vacuum well to save the headache of pet hair as much as possible.

Just the best
I've rented Rug Doctor shampooers for many years and decided I would save money in the long run by buying my own unit. The added benefit is I won't be bringing someone else's dirt into my home because the previous renter did not clean it before returning it to the rental center. We have several pets, and now I can really keep my carpets clean and smelling fresh. Of course it works perfectly. This is a serious carpet shampooer, THE BEST.I noticed some reviewers mentioned that their units were obviously previously owned or customer returns because they had some water inside when received. The documentation that comes with the new cleaner explains that there may be some water in the unit because each unit is tested before shipping from the factory. Makes sense.

This Rug Doctor Pro is amazing!
I’m so happy to have made this purchase of The Rug Doctor. 25 years ago I used to rent these units.I mainly have hardwood floors, but I do have a few rooms with carpet, I’ll also do my grandfather’s carpeting and another relatives. If I were to rent the machine, first of all, it’s unknown what someone may have cleaned with it.So far, I have done 2 huge rooms. The carpeting was about 20 years old, it will need one more shampooing before I’m satisfied. In my grandfather’s home, the carpeting is 5 years old and less soiled, so it will be very clean and close to new looking after one shampooing. I would’ve had to go through the hassle of renting a machine five times, for a couple hundred dollars more, I own my own machine. It also comes with a five year warranty, I’d just have to pay for shipping to the company and they pay for the unit to get shipped back. I love this machine. Do yourself a favor and buy one if you’re interested.

Excellent
I just got mine about 2 months ago. I purchased it on Amazon and it came within a day and on time. No issues with the packaging. Everything is fine. I decided to give it a test just to see of if there are issues. It works like a charm. Its better than the previous version that died on me yesterday. The build looks more sturdy also, well its twice the price I paid for the previous one. One Flaw I found though is that the filter in the dirty water tank is kinda ackward to put back in if you need to wash it and then reinstall. Now I noticed that a few customers are complaining that it came with water on it. This is because they test it before they send it to you. Mine almost came with water. I had bought a previous one from the RugDoctor website about 5 yrs ago and it also came with water. It served me for more than 5 yrs and It never died its just that the front plastic came off while I was moving it around the house and I decided to junk it because it wasn't worth the repairs. Please I am not a rug doctor appeaser. I am just a satisfied customer. I also have the portable cleaner that recently stopped suction because of a crack in the hose. I will repair it myself. I had to purchase a new hose from eBay because the hose it out of stock on the rug doctor website and I can't wait for them to have it in stock. I am a satisfied customer.

Restored 20 year old carpets to like new condition.
Lived in a house for almost 20 years, got married and had three kids running around. We used Hoovers and other cleaners with limited success. When we brought in this rug doctor and gave a thorough cleaning to the carpets, a rental management company declared the house to be in "pristine" condition. Money well spent.

Works Perfectly
I bought this last summer because I was tired of renting from the store every month (our new puppy was an absolute terror). This machine works amazingly well. It gets even the worst stains out of my carpet. As I said I bought it last summer and it is still running perfectly. It doesn't seem to clog. My dog (a husky) sheds like crazy and when I empty the dirty water tank there's always a ton of fur that my vacuum didn't pick up. If you are still unsure rent one from a store and decide before you buy it as the price tag is quite a bit. Honestly though it has paid for itself just by the number of times I have used it.

I have animals and allergies to dust and dander etc. So, I wanted one for my home.
It was really easy to use. I loved the fact that I own it and can use it anytime of day or night. So worth the money. I’ve rented rug doctors before and the cost of everything and my time limit, I didn’t like. I figured I should just by my own. For me, I have a lot of allergies now that I didn’t years ago. So, It really helps to keep the carpets clean. Also, with my pets shedding hair to keep that cleaned up too. If you can push a vacuum, you can use this. Best purchase I’ve made in quite a while for cleaning and also health benefits. Because of my allergies.
