SCP-096000 Rebuild Kit For 2005 & Newer Volvo Penta Gas Sterndrive Raw Water Crankshaft Mounted Pump

this rebuild kit came with a high quality bearing

Parts were perfect = old pump required some additional tools to disassemble = i.e. bearing puller with slide hammer = large snap ring pliers.

Great kit arrived sooner than I expected. A fantastic repair kit for a very expensive pump.

AS A ASE CERTFIED MASTER TECH AND MARINE TECH. I DONT REBUILD THESE PUMPS . HOW EVER DUE TO CUSTOMER NOT WANTING TO SPEED THE EXTRA MONEY I DID . THE BEARING FIT THE HOUSING OD GOOD THE BEARING DID NOT FIT THE SHAFT ID REAL WELL KIND OF LOOSE THE BEARING ID IS OFF BY .003 NOT GOOD WHEN IT A PRESS FIT TO ALUMINUM . I HOPE THE THERE BEARING LOCKTITE HOLDS IF NOT ITS GOING TO BE MESSY. THE IMPELLER IS OF OK QUALITY HOW EVERY VOLVO IMPELLER HAS A SHAFT SEAL PROTECTOR AND IS A A LOT FIRMER TO PUT IN THIS AFTERMARKET ONE DOES NOT . THIS MEANS SHAFT SEAL WILL HAVE A SHORTER LIFE . ITS MADE IN CHINA I EXPECTED IT TO FAIL FAST IN A SALT WATER APPLICATION AND NO THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO PULLEY CAME OFF NICE AND CLEAN

I would agree with some of the comments that the impeller isn't OEM quality. Reason for the four stars. You can always buy the OEM impeller and keep this one as a back up. It is nice to have the option to rebuild the pump vs buying a complete one. Because I use my boat in the salt water I'm pretty good with servicing and maintaining my boat. It will be interesting to see how well this kit holds up to the original parts. I can say from the time I ordered the kit to the time it was on my door step I was amazed....over night amazed.

Why buy a rebuild kit when you can but the whole thing for about the same price?
