Autism and Me (Mindful Kids)

I am autistic and I work and interact with a lot of autistic young people that this book would massively benefit them. The book goes through so many different things all to do with being autistic and it shares it in a really age appropriate way, this is through the illustrations and the explanations of things surrounding the topic of autism spectrum disorder. If I was younger or when I was first diagnosed this book would have been amazing for me to have navigated my post diagnostic world especially being younger and not quite understanding what it actually means to be diagnosed autistic. It focuses a lot on mindfulness and wellbeing with there being a lot of different activities like colouring and mazes and games which makes this really interactive and really user friendly. I think this should be a recommended resource for children who have just been diagnosed. It is great for children to do with parents and carers, there’s also a really helpful few pages at the back which are great for you to go through if you need some help and support yourself as an adult supporting your autistic child. I really love this book and I wish more people knew about it.

This isn't what I was expecting I was looking for a book on how to explain to my 7 year old son he has autism (recently diagnosed) however this book will come in handy for when he starts exploring what autism means for him and ways to cope making it less daunting, for that purpose its absolutely wonderful and spot on I obviously should of read the write up a bit better 😂 iv added some photos so others can see what's its like on the inside glad iv come across this book though hoping it will help him feel less scared and help him understand more in turn helping him to understand himself better 🤞

We told our little girl about her autism today. This was one of the books I bought to help her process the news. She loves it. It’s a fantastic resource.

My daughters are autistic and love this book so much (they have one each!). Its given space to have a lot of conversations about what they enjoy and what they find tricky, and they really love the mixture of activities. So much thought and care has gone into putting it together, would highly highly recommend. They are 7, it would suit kids 7-11 ish or anyone who loves to colour and draw.

I thought it was a bit more adult but it was aimed at smaller kids but that was my fault for not reading info properly.

Daughter loved this book and has helped our house.
